Nothing new

I don’t see anything that talks about anything outside of that window of the 10th to the 13th. I’m still at an R2 with that window though.

Also, there are now two agencies saying matching has begun, I’ll have to say that’s probably true at this point.

Rumor Queen is there any rumors out there as to when the review room might be updated??? I don’t understand why it is taking so long other than the CCAA maybe is now trying to stay more closely in line with the rate referrals are going. Any thoughts on this????????

  2. YR Says:

I don’t have any proof that what you are suggesting Erika is the case but that thought has crossed my mind several times.

  3. RumorQueen Says:

The last I heard, many agencies have been notified that their November families have passed review, but there are a few who say that their November families are still in review.

Basically, if this point if your agency tells you that you are clear, then you should be okay.

Some months we have a hold up like this. Maybe they are absorbing the loss of the contract employees by putting less people in the review room? Or, maybe it’s just one of those months.

  4. beatr1ce Says:

or…maybe they find it more efficent to update the review portion of the box at the same time they update the referral date in the box. I just have a feeling that we will see it update at the same time they update it for referrals.

  5. beatr1ce Says:

or…maybe they feel it would be more effecient if they update the box at the same time they update it for referrals…which hopefully would be in the next week.

Oh my I think I am going to absolutely loose it if something is not posted before I leave for work this afternoon. I wonder how many time I can call Eddie tonight before he starts considering my depth of sanity?

    I must be an “Old Fart” to be quoting a song from a Doris Day movie. But it seems appropriate at this point. ;

  8. kdindiana Says:

mtonkinson - no kidding. That is how I feel too.
I have never posted on here but with a LID of 1/11 I am beside myself and just keep sitting in my office hitting refresh refresh refresh…

  9. FindingHope Says:

    mtonkinson and kdindiana-
We’ll keep positive thoughts for you both. Try to breathe, and just hold on tight. Your babies are coming.

With our LID of jan. 11 ‘06 we keep looking at this site for the whole weekend, and refresh, and resfresh again and again. I never been this nerveus in my live before. Please China let us be in!!! RQ, we are thankful for what you do!

  12. kdindiana Says:

Ineke - do you really think there will be some activity over the weekend? I am thinking it will be Monday…

  13. kyleigh Says:

RQ–I have a quick question, and I apologize if it’s been asked before. Do you have any links or any information about the number of Chinese children being adopted internationally? I have the U.S. numbers, and the Canadian ones as well, but I’m wondering if I can find the stats for European countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

    Thanks!

  14. Ineke Says:

Probably you are right Kdindiana, but…… if…….. I keep my computer on this wekend………. I will not miss anything………!!!!!!!

  15. Nancy Says:

Ineke, if I had a Jan 11, ‘06 LID I’d be right there with ya!

  16. michellev Says:

Regarding review, my agency has told me that CCAA is currently reviewing November but that they have not officially updated their website, sigh. Good luck to all those expecting a referral!

  17. kdindiana Says:

Ineke - oh believe me I will be checking all weekend too.

  19. tlday13 Says:

I’m going to REALLY throw myself into painting the mural in the baby’s nursery! It *might* cut down on my excessive checking the blog and forums for any more news. (hahaha, yeah right!)

I know my mom (my planned travel buddy) is getting as antsy as I am! She can’t wait to meet her newest grandbaby!

anti-spam word, family… can’t wait to add to ours!

  20. RayRDT Says:

You know what I think : I think the CCAA stopped reviewing for a month or so (too much ahead of referrals and/or maybe they want their “late” matchers to catch up). I hope Nov & Dec get out quickly !!!

    R.

  21. Nancy Says:

RayRDT, that’s my theory, too. I think they are trying to close the gap between review and referral. At least that’s what I tell myself, being a Nov ‘06er.

  22. skye06 Says:

Kyleigh, the info you’re seeking can’t be found in one place. You’d have to check the sites of each country’s agency that handles orphan visas, but I don’t know if it’s publicly available.
Thanks, RQ. Hope your recovery continues and is speedy. It’s worrisome that you were so sick.

  23. kyleigh Says:

I was checking individual country sites, but I can’t seem to find any information. I did find the Canadian stats, but the others are eluding me! I was wondering if the EU might have a per country breakdown.

  24. rayra Says:

Kyleigh, Spanish Agency (ACI) has sent a note to families with “No official Info” trying to explain the situation.
A summary of the letter is:
Until May 2007 there´s aprox 30.000 files registered in CCAA being the attachments 500-600 per month.
With these numbers, the agency tells families to be calm, and prepared to increasing waiting times. Once may 07 is done, waiting times gradually will go down.
About the olympics, CCAA will work normally from june to september but Pekin´s Authorities might give some days holidays to goverment employees in August trying to reduce the traffic in the city. This is not confirmed, but if this happened, CCAA will try to make invitation letters to last longer.

    Hi everyone
I am from the U.K. and I believe that we don’t do much more than around 200 adoptions per annum. It is made as difficult as possible for us and only the most determined stick it out. We don’t have private agencies we have to rely on the very limited information given to us by a government body. However because where I live we do not have a local authority that deals with I.A. we have to use a private agency. Those of us who use this agency have just been informed of dramatic price increases.
They have tripled the annual fee just to keep our files open
2000 dollars for a change of country, introduced a pre placement fee and dramatically increased post placement studies. Have your agencies done this when they saw their income source reducing?,due to long waits and closures of other programmes. WE are thinking of challenging, what with the long wait, increase in orphanage fees and the chance of no referral at the end of it,You just wonder if you shouldn’t just cut your losses and give your money to Half The Sky or Love Without Boundaries. I am beginning to feel like the Golden Goose who just run out of eggs!

    Hi Everyone,

Our agency (who had a lid of Jan. 16) said that the CCAA matched through Jan. 10 this month. Just thought I would share.

  32. mom2LK Says:

OMG! Are we really in?? I hope it’s true and I hope we get to see our daughter soon. This past week has been a long one.

    LID 1/10/06

  33. jws0105 Says:

For those of you “on the bubble” I hope that you are able to get in this month. Take some comfort in knowing that if you just miss it this month, it gives another month to process the reality that it is going to happen. I thought that after over two years of waiting I would be ready, but when we missed our 1/5 date by one day last month, it occurred to me that this is real. We’ve spent the last month buying non-age specific stuff and beginning to allow ourselves to visualize what our lives will be like. That will free us up during the next two months to get all the logistics of travel and age specific stuff ready. In the end, you have to remain convinced that it will happen when it is supposed to, and find a way to enjoy each moment of life. Good luck to all!

  34. Ineke Says:

When it’s jan. 10, we are not in, we have jan. 11. And that would be a big bumber for us here in Holland because of the political situation here.

Igm, I hope so very much that the CCAA will match for one day more (at least). One more day, one more day, one more day…………………….. We also would really, really, like to see our second daughter of son soon!!!!

  35. mom2LK Says:

    Ineke:

I hope that they get past the 10th as well, I was just happy to see our LID included. Let’s holdout for a big batch!

  36. Ineke Says:

Of course mom2LK!! It’s okay. Now fingers crossed! Let’s hope there will be more news on monday!!

  37. rjk Says:

    Bring on some rumors!
    Bring on some news!
    Bring on some babies!
    Bring on a BIG BATCH!!!!

  38. youyangmama Says:

    Ineke,
We also hope they pass the 10th January as well. Especially for those who are so close, but there are a lot more of people who are close and waiting, it would be a big bumber for all of them. Our LID is 8th March.
