I am not 100% sure, but someone in our family said that the young babies are probably coming from the same province. Some provinces have more abandonments.
My stepmother is Chinese and she spends quite a bit of
time in China and this is her observation.

Hello FindingHope,

Thanks a lot for your comments, it was what I needed, jus a little bit of understanding, and you even gave me hope (I think you chose a good nickname!)

And thanks to everybody for your attitude in this long waiting time. You're an inspiration, and my husband and I, although lots of miles away, feel we're a part of this community.

A big hugh from Spain

hifromSpain-
Hi from the U.S.! Your LID is one month after mine (Feb 07), so I'm right there with you. Of course, I'm turning 45 tomorrow!! so the long wait time has other issues for me. But it's okay. Somewhere in all this craziness, I've found a sense of peace; and I believe with all that I am that a beautiful little girl waits at the end of it all.
This is my second adoption from China, and I still have faith in the process. China gave me the greatest gift in the world once, and I trust them to now give her a little sister, her Mei Mei. It's easy to lose hope with all that's going on, but you can't. You'll have good days and bad days, and that's okay. Just keep believing that wherever this all might take you, your child will be waiting.
Hang in there!

I think the reason that the babies were younger is that now with the paperwork required for the Hauge the orphanages are processing the paper work as they get the child and not back tracking to get a police report after the fact. So hopefuly that means that they've taken a cog out of the wheel , also think that this is the start of what the inter office / orphanage online program. So perhaps it will speed tings up as they become more comfortable with new process. However with a log in of march 07 I really feel things slipping away, what stared as a joyful expectation has become a painful anxeity loaded process. I recall Henry Kissinger meting with the Chairman when Nixon went to China. They were having a conversation about China's revoloution. Kissinger mentioned that , like China, they had a revolution too in 1776 and a new rebublic was born, "what do you think of America's revolution ? he asked the Chairman. "Too early to tell. When will our file finaly get at least reviewed? ....................

I do believe things will get worse for the next couple of months because of the Olympics and we should all be prepared ... Those getting a referral next month will travel one month prior to the Olympics so I'm expecting a tiny batch ... Expectations should be low (very low) until the October batch (could be Jan 2009 before we see any improvement) ... All this is just my opinion ... I just hope to be out of review before the additional slowdown (Dec 2006) !

Hello everybody,
My husband and I are adopting in Spain. We like to read your website, since we find it more optimistic than those from our country!! We like the way you view the waiting time...However, after the latest referral, the comments on this web site are just as pesimistic as those in any other...This is understandable. I'm feeling quite upset too, I´m afraid I can't give any encouragement words today. But I need to express my feelings and share them with someone who understands. Our registration date in China is 03-20-2007. According to the rythm of refferrals, we should still have almost 6 years to wait!! We are relatively young (33 years old) and can't have any biological children. If anybody can give some words of hope, I will thank him/her so much. If not, I totally understand, and want to thank everybody in this web for "listening" to me.
And congratulations to everybody who entered in the latest referral.
Thank you again

Is there any way to find out the number the babies referred at a time? Could this explain the days processed?

FYI,
I was the oldest in my group (46) and all of our Jiangxi girls were 11-12 months at referral. I really don't think there is any rhyme or reason, although I am shocked by the age of some of the babies in recent months. A neighbor's daughter was just 5 months at referral.
