When

The last 12 referral batches arrived at 25, 35, 30, 28, 32, 29, 31, 33, 26, 32, 31, and 32 days.

The least time between batches is 25 days, the highest is 35, and the average is 30. However, 31 days shows up twice and 32 days shows up three times.

With all of that in mind: The soonest I’d expect to see them this month is Tuesday, April 29 and the latest is Friday, May 9. The most likely arrival based on the average would be Monday, May 5.

Any cut-off rumors early next week will be classified as an early rumor. We may see some possibly substantial rumors late next week, but the ones with bite probably won’t happen until the following week.

Hi RQ - A quick question as our time is getting closer…we have a 2/28/06 LID and I have noticed that some projectin charts don’t list February LIDs at all…it jumps from Jan 2006 to March 2006..any thoughts? Thanks…I really appreciate your site…our agency is refusing to give any indication on when we may get referrals.

Bring on the rumors! Better yet, bring on the referrals — so many of them that it will breathe life into mine (and many other) cycnical hearts!

My anti-spam word: baby. Will I be seeing my youngest this batch?

LID 1-12-06 Will it be May 2008? or June? Only the CCAA knows.

  3. jes Says:

Is the CCAA going to close at all for the May 1 holiday? If so, I would guess that referrals will be mailed right before they close.

  4. edfknoxadopt Says:

Come on referrals…this “almost mama” is so ready to meet her “little one”. Thanks RQ for the “when” post I was on the edge of my seat about to tumble….

getting back to the word horrid- my one year wait is now looking more like a 4 yr wait. this has been an extremely stressful 21 months of waiting. i am 47 and counting. my daughter wants a sister. month after month of looking for anything positive to hold onto. month after month of disbelief. would it be horrid to get another tiny batch and another etc. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is 21 exclamation points, one for each month of waiting. thanks for letting me vent.

  9. Flossmoor123 Says:

    Faithhope:

    Same boat here. #1 daughter wants # 2 sister/brother. Also 47, LID 6/30/06.

Hang in there, we’ll all get there!

  10. Horsegal Says:

We are in the same situation. We have a Bio 6 yr old Daughter and we are 47 and 46. I mentioned to her recently that we actually thought about backing out of the Adoption and her response convinced
us to hang in there. I really didn’t want to back out but am a little concerned about the age thing. Although I feel 35…. Hopefully early 2009??

  11. dutchdeb Says:

When the oldest parent have reached the age of 46, we can no longer adopt a child. That is a law here in Holland. So time is running out for some parents over here.
I am not on that boat, thank god. My DH is 42 and I am 38. But my DD is asking when she is getting her brother/sister. It breakes my heart!

  12. emory2001 Says:

tessmon, that probably means we Feb-ers aren’t getting referrals. lol. not.

    Horsegal–

We have a 5 1/2 year old daughter and we’ve been waiting for two years. It’s disappointing, but as far as the age thing goes, maybe you could look at it this way. The older you are, the more your daughter needs a sibling! I think about this too–I’m 41 and my husband is 43. We asked for a two year old, and we figured when we were finished with this adoption, it would have been as if we had her at 38 and 40. (My original idea was to have 36 and 38 years respectively between us and child #1 and 38 and 40 years respectively between us and child #2. The best laid plans…) Should anything happen to older parents, it’s great to know your children would have each other.

  14. greggw2gs Says:

    kyleigh

Good point. We are 44 and 45 and have a 23 year old daughter sp she will be there for our new China baby if needed later on in life…

By the way we are in Louisville are you in KY?

  15. mtonkinson Says:

Faithshope what is your lid I am in the same boat. Started at 44 and will be 47 in sept. My daughter is now almost 9. I asked her one day what if this never happens would you be upset, her answer was it has to happen and I would be very upset. So every time I think about quiting through this entire thing, I look at my other four children and wonder what they would think, would mom have given up on us if it became to difficult. Well we are finally coming to the end lid of 1/12/06. And even now we are never minus a rumor that would make me think the end will be simple.

  16. cbcockerel Says:

    Hi greggw2gs,
We are in Louisville, KY too. Just want to say hello. Our LID is 1/11/06!!
    Crystal

  17. faithhope Says:

    flossmoor:
    thanks for the solidarity.
i do hope all of us who are in this slow boat together eventually make it to shore.
and the sooner the better of course.

  18. kismit44 Says:

I turned 50 last month and am a single parent. I asked for AYAP when I started with a 6 month projected wait over 2 years ago. My daughter needs a sibling, I need to complete my family and to get on with life. I have longevity in my genes (both parents still alive and well at 86 and 83), but who knows what is going to happen on that freeway!? I so want to see them graduate, marry and make me a grand mother (in due time). But I NEED the baby first!!!! China get a move on!

  19. luvluv Says:

RQ - I too have the same question as Tessmom. We have and LID of 2-24-06. We pray for a sped up after the Olympics.

Hang in there mates. We are in the same mature boat too. 48 next month, DH 52 next month!

Thanks, RQ, for the numbers and hope all is better with your little one.

  20. greggw2gs Says:

    Hi Crystal!

Your next! We are 12/16/06 :o(

    SECC?

    Gregg

  21. ckhunter2002 Says:

    greggw2gs & cbcockerel -

we’re in Lvl too! However, our lid is 7/6/06 … we still have a ways to go. Are you using a somewhat local agency? We’re using the one east of here :-)

  22. cbcockerel Says:

Greggw2gs - no, not SECC - we live across town but have visited years ago and have lots of frineds there.

Ckhunter2002 - Hello!! So glad to know there are other folks close. Our agency isn’t close, it is very west of here.

Best of luck to you both with your wait, hopefully we’ll run into each other someday since we live so close!!

  23. stefanieneric Says:

We have some friends who just got their referral after waiting two years. They are the only ones in the group who were 48 and 50 years old. They asked for as young as possible, and got a three year old. Everyone else got younger children. I don’t know if it was because of their age or not. Regardless, their daughter is beautiful and adjusting just as beautifully. We had some other friends who were older and asked for a child between 18-24 months old…and their daughter was 6-7 months at referral…the youngest of the bunch…so who knows.
