Good Morning
Things I am thankful for:
- Both of my girls are mostly healthy now. The antibiotics must still be given every day, and TwinkleToes is still on prednisone which isn’t pretty in a toddler, but they both feel well and that is a huge deal.
- It is springtime. Short sleeves and green things. I won’t even complain about the pollen.
- Taxes are done for another year.
- GlitterGirl is doing better than excellent in school. I am so proud of her.
- It is warm outside (yes, I know, I already mentioned the weather, but I just can’t express how happy I am that it isn’t winter anymore)
- TwinkleToes asked to sit on the potty this morning. She didn’t do anything on it, but she asked. GlitterGirl followed her in and read a book to her while she sat on the potty.
- GlitterGirl and TwinkleToes love each other very much. They have lots of hugs and kisses for each other, and they help each other out all of the time without being asked. I love watching the two of them play together. (Most of the time, sometimes I have to play referee, still. Of course.)
- TwinkleToes slept in her crib last night for the first time in well over a week.
- It’s warm outside. Both of my girls are wearing short sleeves today. They needed a light jacket this morning, but this afternoon they will be fine in short sleeves. I’m in short sleeves with no jacket.
- I live in a time and place that has clean water, plenty of food, and excellent health care. When my children are sick I can easily obtain oranges and popsicles and tylenol and antibiotics and other medicines and foods to help them feel better.
That is my list off of the top of my head this morning.

I’m happy that:
I wore my sunglasses on the drive into work this morning. And have my sunroof open.
I can finally wear my sandals.
The sun is out!!! It’s spring.

And what a beautiful and precious list it is!! So glad TT is feeling better.
What a blessing that your girls love one another so much and get along so well! Lots of that has to do with mom and dad and the way they love and care for their girls too.
Thankful for warm weather here too!

Flip flops and pedicures!!!
It’s finally Spring!!
April 21st, 2008 at 11:55 am
It’s 75 here and climbing. The birds are making such lovely noise this morning they are excited as I am that spring is here. I got sunburned this weekend at my eldest son’s soccer tournament and didn’t even care.
At the games my friend’s little girl from China wanted me to hold her, swing her and play “My Little Pony” with her the whole day. She wouldn’t leave my side. She must have known how much I needed that. It was a sweet glimpse of what my future may hold. But I can say that whatever happens, I am truly grateful for what I have right here, right now.
Thanks RQ for helping us focus on the positive this a.m.
Ha, spam word is where she (my friend’s daughter) was born!

What a great day for this:
A beautifull and healthy daughter from China that has bonded better than I could have imagined.
An amazing 6 year old that loves her little sister and is the joy in our house.
A husband that tolerates my imperfections and loves me inspite of them.
A wonderful community (on-line and off!) to be surrounded by!

I am thankful for my family with the good and the craziness that comes with that. I am thankful I live in this Country. I am thankful for all the little things and sometimes not so little that I take for granted. I’m thankful for my husband, but don’t let him read this:-) I am incredibly thankful for my daughter, a gift from God and China. She has touched places in my soul I was unaware existed.
She is my reminder that if another child is to join our family it will be the child that needs to be with us and it will happen when the time is right.

(Cant forget about I how thankful I am for family, friends and my furry little dog.)

- The life I have been given and the path that has been set for me.
- My very small, but LOUD family. We yell alot, but we love to talk loud….we are not soft talkers..
- To accept the many “gifts” in my/our lives…and to accept them as gifts whether good or bad…NO regifting allowed with lifes gifts…
- My husband…he still makes my toes curl..he is handsome…to me!!
- My best friend Jane. She is also small, but mighty…and can’t wait to be an Aunt.
Hoping that this post sends peace and best wishes to everyone. It has been a while since I have been this peaceful.

I am thankful that the warm sun is out, and flowers are starting to bloom.
I am thankful that I am able to be a fulltime SAHM to my girls. I quit my horrible job last September and I feel like a completely different person.
I am thankful that my father’s chemo and radiation for his colon cancer is almost over (this is his last week, and then he has surgery in a month).
I am thankful that my in-laws live 4 hours away!!!
I am thankful for the RQ forum, where I can post without worrying about being flamed. The support here is incredible :)
I am thankful that after so many years of heartache, I am now a mother to my two wonderful girls, one of who turns 2 years old on Friday. Happy birthday, Sophie Jing!!!

I, too, am very thankful:
I have a husband who loves me through the good and the bad, the laughs and the tears.
I have a beautiful, loving daughter whose face lights up and says “Mama” whenever I enter the room.
I have the sunshine to keep me warm, and the rain to make things grow.
I have the best friends in the entire world who are always there for me.
I have a new pair of flip-flops and a beach vacation right around the corner.
Yes, life in my corner of the world is pretty good right now!
Thanks RQ!!

sophie_mom, oh I hear you there! Isn’t David Cook soooo worth putting the kids to bed early for???
I love how many people are thankful for flip flops! Such an inexpensive little piece of footwear that makes us all so happy. Does anyone else have to break in their “flip flop toe” every year (that little space between the toes that holds the shoe on)? I broke mine in yesterday, at the lake, with my beautiful little daughter running around in the sand…how can one not be thankful?
April 22nd, 2008 at 9:04 pm
I am extremely grateful for my baby girls, my healthy teenagers, and a husband/father who takes care of us.
