Half the Sky update
Half the Sky has provided me with another update. Too bad we can’t have a drumroll here, this feels like it needs one:
People have now sent in $12,354.38 on behalf of ChinaAdoptTalk.com.
As I’ve said in the past, if you feel you get value from the site, please consider donating to Half the Sky. If you’d like to read more about them, and why I support them, you can go to my Half the Sky page. If you would like to donate you can download this pdf form to fill out and either fax in with a credit card number or mail in with a check.
To everyone who has donated, thank you. You’ve brought me to tears. Good tears.

No, thank you, RQ! I just want to encourage anyone who is thinking of donating to Half the Sky to do it! We sponsor two children through HTS, and it is such a wonderful way to feel connected during this long wait. They do such amazing things!

YAY FOR HTS! I feel so blessed and lucky to have a daughter from a HTS orphanage and they are definitely my fave charity. We plan to ask people to donate to HTS in lieu of gifts for Charlotte’s next birthday party.

We are going to donate to HTS in honor of our moms and sisters who are moms for Mother’s Day gifts this year. They have a really neat certificate that they will send out. Check it out! Just one way to relive the agony of celebrating yet another childless Mother’s Day.

I am also the mom of an amazing daughter from a HTS orphanage, Xinyang, so I see results of HTS’s efforts everyday. I am truly bessed to have Danielle in my life and I thank HTS everyday for all they did for and with Danielle for the first 21 months of her life. HTS is our family charity as well.
So, thank you to all of you that have donated!!!

For Christmas, my brothers and I had decided only to buy presents for the kids. It’s easier and really none of us “need” anything anymore. Because we don’t have kids yet my husband and I asked both of my brothers and their familys to donate to Half the Sky. Half the Sky sent beautiful cards announcing the donations. I cried when I opened them because the donations were made in the name of our some-day baby. We have saved these for her scrap book, they are really gorgeous and so meaningful.

My DH and I recently attended a fundraising event in our area…seated at our table was a leading pediatric children’s oncologist who has traveled through China extensively. He and his wife were very interested to learn about our DD and the details of our adoption…
I add that info because the doctor “RAVED” about Half The Sky… He has been heavily involved in helping the Chinese govt to treat children w/childhood cancers and said that all the orphanages he visited where Half The Sky was involved were AMAZING!
So CHEERS to Half The Sky and all the GOOD WORKS that they do! And to everyone who is helping to make it happen through donations.

Unbelievable! What a difference those donations will make in the lives of SO many children! One of our adopted children was from a HTS orphanage and I can’t tell you how healthy, well-adjusted and on-target she was at adoption! We now sponsor little ones through HTS, New Day, Bringing Hope to Children and Grace and Hope as our way of ‘giving back’.
Way to go, RQ and to everyone who has reached out to change the life of a little one. Your contribution is worth more than you know :)

I appreciate showing us how to donate on behalf of ChinaAdoptTalk to Half the Sky. My first daughter was 3 months old when they came into her orphanage. Seven months later we adopted her and she had benefitted immensely. I have donated many times but I feel very moved to do it again on behalf of all the information and support I have received from this website. It is too bad that our second daughter is waiting in a nonHalf the Sky SWI but my hope is that the organization’s influence has spread to many other places.

This is WONDERFUL!!!! This is definitely something positive to read about on here! Instead of only finding a few days have been matched, I LOVE finding out how much $$ will now be helping many of those sweet babies in China!!!
