My first daughter was 3 months old when they came into her orphanage. Seven months later we adopted her and she had benefitted immensely. I have donated many times but I feel very moved to do it again on behalf of all the information and support I have received from this website. It is too bad that our second daughter is waiting in a nonHalf the Sky SWI but my hope is that the organization's influence has spread to many other places. One of our adopted children was from a HTS orphanage and I can't tell you how healthy, well-adjusted and on-target she was at adoption! We now sponsor little ones through HTS, New Day, Bringing Hope to Children and Grace and Hope as our way of 'giving back'. Way to go, RQ and to everyone who has reached out to change the life of a little one. It's easier and really none of us "need" anything anymore. Because we don't have kids yet my husband and I asked both of my brothers and their familys to donate to Half the Sky. Half the Sky sent beautiful cards announcing the donations. I cried when I opened them because the donations were made in the name of our some-day baby. We have saved these for her scrap book, they are really gorgeous and so meaningful. SJV LID 5/12/06 For Christmas, my brothers and I had decided only to buy presents for the kids.
