I’m going to need some serious sedation before this batch of referrals comes.
My anti-spam word: CCAA
as in “Come on, CCAA, give us some good news and a big, big batch!”
I wish this for myself and all those behind me.

I really hope we hear this week - I am starting to get very antsy!! C’mon referrals, we are ready!!
April 28th, 2008 at 11:08 am
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to get a really huge batch? Give us something to hang on to.
And my offer still stands…We get a 30 day batch and drinks are on me :) I’ll set up the site! At this point, even a 15 day batch would send me through the roof.
Come on China!!

2 weeks ago you’ve sent an email to the Guangzhou Consulate asking if you “could open up a dialogue with them about what is being said behind the scenes right now so they can open their own investigation.”
You said you should expect to hear something in five days.
What are the latest news, then?
Longing forward to reading a post on this touchy but important issue.

My agency has told us things are expected to slow down even more. (Sorry to put a damper on our hopes!) Has anyone else been told this? Come on, be honest!
April 28th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
kyleigh, my agency has been saying that too, more or less, in their monthly updates. But I have not had a specific conversation with them about it (too scared!)

luvluv-Your LID is REALLY CLOSE!! A couple 15-day batches and you’re on your way to China!
My agency (whom I trust and respect) still maintains that things will be slow until after the Olympics and will then slowly start to increase. It won’t be a “Yay, the Olympics are over! Now we can have 30 day batches!” It will be more of a slow increase over time. And I tend to believe that.

theups and luvluv - count me in as a wisher and dreamer with an LID of 1/24/06! :) I guess that makes us the “three amigos”! hee hee! My hopes are up high! And I’m shouting BIG BATCHES! BIG BATCHES! ALL OF JANUARY! Wouldn’t that be AMAZING!
April 28th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Same with my agency. They says things are going to be slow until after the Olympics
April 28th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
The 12th looks mighty big….I’m not going to expect much this month….Or next month…..Or the month after that…..However, I’d LOVE to be wrong!
April 28th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Sorry to be a downer, just heard referrals only through 1-12. (from the agency)…I hope they are wrong but cograts to everyone about to see their kids.

my posts are taking 1 day, I’ll try again. Referrals to 1-12 only..I just found out

Vietnam just halted all adoptions with the United States. I feel so bad for all those waiting parents. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080428/ap_on_re_as/vietnam_us_adoption;_ylt=AjX1s6CFEvgmlqoi4q2.oZas0NUE

I expect 2008 to be a VERY slow year (because we’re getting closer and closer to the Olympics). I wouldn’t be surprised to see 2 day batches and maybe even no referrals during a month or so. I must say though that I have VERY big hopes for 2009. I REALLY hope 2009 will bring BIG BIG batches !

thepaddy,
Thanks for sharing the news about Vietnam. I feel sick for those parents in waiting…it could have been any one of us…I have said it time and time again…we have to be careful about the “press” we give the CCAA. The old saying goes ” he who has the gold makes the rules….” We must remember they are in control…Their society is not like ours….I was saying this especially around the time when the “box” was taken away… not that it has made a difference, but it is just one fine example of how the red flagged country thinks…
…..Respectful always

wait4ever,
thanks for posting the 10-12 rumor. since the first rumor we hear ( when it’s bad) is usually true, i believe it.
3 days. sheesh. they couldn’t throw in the 13th?
April 28th, 2008 at 11:37 pm
I am still holding out hope that they are not seriously giving 3 little days. Let’s hope and pray (to whoever!) and wait until we hear from the Queen!
I really hope that they at least match through Jan. 15th! I really hope for the whole month.
Come on China-surprize us!
Best of luck everyone!
Word: CHINA! Will I get there in 2008? YES, Please!

Cut off has just been announced in France : 12th of January 2006 included. Another small batch.
April 29th, 2008 at 4:54 am
Still waiting for RQ’s answer to my question re:dialogue with Guangzhou consulate.
What are the concrete results of your investigations?
April 29th, 2008 at 7:01 am
I’d also like to hear from RQ about contacting the Consulate.

We’ll get back to the allegations later, give me a little more time, please.
Again, there really isn’t much to be done on my end besides making sure the proper authorities are aware of what is being said.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:37 am
Good luck to those who are waiting on this batch - I hope your referrals are in it.
[offtopic] *no offense intended*
French Marianne, you raise an interesting point. I notice that Brian Stuy seems to be distancing himself from this whole thing. And I also saw your comments on his blog. C’est tres interessant, n’est-ce pas?
RQ - did you in fact contact anybody? Did you get any answers? A simple yes or no answers those questions.
[/offtopic]
Thanks for taking the time to answer, and, again, good luck and happiniess to all who are about to get referrals.
April 29th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Getting through the 12th may not be as bad as it seems. Aren’t these few days in January traditionally very large LID’s? I would like to know how many referrals that includes before getting really frustrated with the number of days. Considering how slow we anticipate things to be until the end of the summer, getting through some really large LID’s may actually be very lucky.
April 30th, 2008 at 2:41 am
I agree wih you, firstkid.
RQ,
you say “there nothing much to be done on my end”. I am amazed by this statement (may be an understatment?). On your post on the subject though, you wanted to OPEN UP A DIALOGUE with them, didn’t you?
Firstkid, as you say, ‘très intéressant… mais aussi effrayant !’. Regards.
