New Poll
Remember when I said it wasn’t time for a new poll yet?
I decided while going over the numbers for the Projections post that I was wrong. Day wise it shouldn’t be time for it yet, but since CNY falls into those days then, numbers wise, it is time for a new poll.
This poll is for those with a January, February, or March LID of 2006. Not 2007.
I would like to remind everyone to only vote once. If your best friend isn’t on the internet and has a LID in this window then do not vote for them. The idea here is that we are taking a sampling of people. We won’t get everyone, and that is okay. The sampling we are getting is ‘those who are online and want to vote in a poll”. We get a big enough sampling to be statistically accurate, but if we have people voting for their friends who are not online then that throws the poll out of whack. So, please, only vote for yourself.
And, once more, this poll is for those with 2006 LID’s. If your LID doesn’t fall in the window of this poll please do not email me your LID. Every time I run a poll I end up with about 50 emails of “My LID wasn’t in the poll so I couldn’t vote, but it is _____.” There is nothing I can do with that information at this point. Sorry.
One final reminder: If you want to view the results so far at any point, there is a link at the bottom of each poll, called View Results, that will allow you to view the results of that poll. You’ll have to do it for all three of them in turn to view the results of all three modules. I know, it’s a pain to have it in three pieces, but the (free) software I use only allows for 20 votes.

Thank you RQ for all the work that goes into putting these polls together. I know that it was one of the things that gave me a realistic outlook of my timeframe while waiting for my daughter. With a cousin and many good friends still waiting, I still enjoy your site (especially at THIS time of the month!) and encourage folks here to continue to find support among your fellow waiting parents.

Would it be worth spelling out in this post and at the top of the poll that it doesn’t apply to 2007 AND 2008 LIDs (sadly there are 3 years of Jan, Feb and Mar - and the rest - still hanging in there)

I was getting all excited…..March 2006 finally in a Poll, until I realised it only goes up until 13th. 1 day short, but at least this will give us an idea of how many are ahead. Thankyou so much RQ for all you hard maths and projections. Maybe our portion of fees should be for you not our clueless SW. :)

Also, it doesn’t appear to be for everyone in March ‘06 — only March 13 and earlier — unless I’m missing something.

OMG!!!!! I’m so excited to vote in the RQ poll!!!! I missed the voting by one day last time and, I know it sounds weird, but it was such a bummer. Anyway, I got to vote this time. Certainly that some sort of landmark!!!

It’s funny how even having a Poll to vote in is such a milestone. With this long wait anything that includes our date makes it such a special time. Something else to tell our little one about as we were waiting……just not yet. But definitely next poll.

ladeesquire…I remember when my LID date made an RQ poll..it felt the same to me…like a right of passage or something…so I totally understand why you feel its a landmark. It might sound corny, but I remember first I made it through review, then a few months later my LID date made it to an RQ poll. That RQ poll helped me figure out what month I would get my referral of my daughter in 2007. This meant that the last few months were not too bad to wait because I could at least figure things out re: the when (when I was next next, I felt some peace; booked a vacation for the week before referrals were due and then was relatively calm and patient the week before referrals came out (and it was a long weekend: labour day!!!).

Can’t wait to see the results once the poll closes to get a better idea of the wait. I’m hoping it might be slightly better than the Chinaadoption forecast, although I must admit up until this month I thought they were being rather optimistic.

Thanks, RQ for doing another poll. I’m in with several of the others that responded with a 3/14.06 LID; maybe that’s a big day? It will be interesting to see! Like others, I was a little bummed I didn’t get to vote, but am thrilled that I can see the data up to my LID.
I have to admit I am surprised that the numbers posted so far seem lower (98 fewer for Jan 13 to Feb 12th by my count). I wonder are people not voting or has there really been that much attrition since the last poll only a few months ago? I’ll be checking to see what the final results are when this poll closes.
I have mixed emotions because I hate to think people gave up when they’re so very close but selfishly excited that maybe our referral might be sooner than I thought!
