Site Problems
The forum is down and the GGTT blog is broken.
I was away from the computer a few days and am just now seeing the problems - sorry.
I pay for fully managed hosting since I don’t know how to handle these kinds of things. And they say they have someone there 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. But something tells me that the people who actually know what they are doing have the long holiday weekend off.
They are supposed to be working on it, but every time they “fix” something, I find that something else is broken.

Thank you for all the hard work it takes to run this site. I guess I had not realized how much I psychologically rely on the blog and forum until it wasn’t there any more for a day. The people who come to this site are an amazing community. Thank you again.

Ahhh… so, no RQ forum? Where’s the fainting smiley when you need him? Guess I’ll go back outside and enjoy the nice weather… man I hope the site is back up before we get rainy weather! Weird the way it throws my whole day off when I can’t get my daily RQ reading in the morning.
Hope you too are enjoying nice weather and having a great weekend, RQ!

I agree! It’s so wrong to be inside, yet I can’t help myself from checking in every few hours. I keep thinking that the rumors will start flying around any minute and now that we’re so close, I don’t want to miss a thing!
Sorry you’re having trouble with your host, RQ — they sound about as un-helpful as our helpdesk at work!

norasmommy,
Hoping you are in this month, along with all of January 06. Bless you all for enduring the wait. I thought 19 months was bad while we waited, but……you guys (all still waiting) deserve a medal of patience!

I’m still keeping it open in one window and refreshing every 10 minutes or so. I can’t stand it, LOL! Thinking that yesterday was Monday and not a Holiday in China I need a rumor!!!!
Rumor Queen I would also like to say thank you for everything you do! I don’t know how I would have made it this far without this sight!!

…They better hurry, it’s almost that time of the month again! How can we not do the rollercoaster ride the next 2 weeks brings!

Well, I knew I was addicted but the extent sure has hit home since I haven’t had my daily fix for two whole days!
Perhaps this little break will be good therapy!!??

2 Weeks, I’m thinking we should see something by the end of this week, the beginning of next week at the latest. Yep I’m going crazy! RQ I think you need to give US the email to the people who are working on the sight. They have no idea what their slowness is doing to a bunch of crazy moms to be with no rumors!

LOL it sounds similar to taking the car in to get it fixed. Hope it all “works” soon.
May 26th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Well if I had to guess, I would say we will start hearing things this week and maybe even see babies by the first monday in June if the current trends hold up.
AW
And that IS just a guess.

This is worse than a caffeine headache……I need my RQ hit. LOL those people in the IT department better get their running shoes on as they will have a very irrate withdrawing symptomatic group of waiting parents on their heels.
May 26th, 2008 at 10:29 pm
I guess if there is anything that is a positive major rumour it will be posted to the blog.

Looking to bright side a forced vacation from the forum was good for me. Things were getting entirely to serious.
I feel for the folks closer to referral. I know how it’s hard to think of anything else.

RQ,
This is my first time to post. We adopted a child in 2001 and waiting for #2 LID 1-26-06. It seems that there are quite a few boys being adopted now as none before. Is this true and are they just placed with waiting parents or are boys being requested more now?
I was never on the internet with my first child but I do find myself checking out this forum all the time now. It does seem to help. Waited 14 months for the first child and over 28 months for this one.
Thanks RQ

I am going through significant forum withdrawal. Thanks RQ for hosting this site and forum, it means so much to me and others.

OK, I’m just finding out now that the forum is down. It’s just as well that I was away — but now you’re FORCING me to WORK instead of PLAY???

Alrighty then - I can sort of get into the forum, it knows I am “looking to china”. Then it just gives me a rude message about copyrights.
As far as the “other subject”, I have expected all along that this would slow things. Emergencies like this take lots of attention and energy from all kinds of normal processes. I would be surprised if CCAA does not find some of it’s time and energy redirected to helping all these children and families get settled. That is just how it needs to be- I certainly wish this had not occured, but it did and it is going to take time and energy to manage.
In the long run this may indeed open more hearts in China to DA - a good result. Just hard on those trying to navigate their own adoption process timelines.
