Partway there
It looks like I’m on my own in getting the forum back up and running now. The server company feels they’ve fixed all they are responsible for fixing. Never mind they broke it in the first place while fixing something else.
I’ve been at it for five hours this evening and it’s getting there, but not quite there just yet. It thinks I’ve taken the copyright notice down, but somehow the template files are a different version than the server files and for some reason that sets off the copyright notice. And I have no idea how to get the template files upgraded since the server files are already upgraded.
I’ll work on it some more tomorrow, it’s 11:30 and I need to get some sleep.
Sorry, I’d hoped to have it running tonight.
As for the comments on the blog, I’m trying to find a nice balance in the settings for what gets moderated. I can’t get the spam word thingie working again but there are some other options available now so maybe we don’t need it. Right now we have over 50 attempts to spam the comments a day. The spam word thing took care of almost all of them, and without it I’ll need to find a balance between letting legitimate comments through and catching the ones that shouldn’t get through.

Hang in there RQ! Nothing makes my head hurt like big computer problems. Solve one thing and the next is revealed… it’s exhausting. Thanks for your efforts!

RQ - Many, many thanks for all you do always. Your dedication is second to none and we’re all more sane for it. You’ve probably saved the lives of many adoption agency staff!!

Thank You Rumor Queen. To echo some in yesterday’s post, I have a problem! I am addicted to the forum on RQ. Seriously, I have missed it. Thank you for your work to keep this site running on a daily basis and for all the work you have done in recent days to get it back up. It truly is a great support for those in the IA community. I have friends who have and are adopting from other countries, but they come to RQ as well. I appreciate you and this site.

I will add my voice to those saying that RQ rocks!
I have taken the time to do something I have thought about for ages which is create a blog and forum that focuses on the world of canadian adoption.
If anyone really can’t stand the withdrawal symptoms feel free to come over and add a comment or vent or whatever.

Everyone understands and will wait patiently for you to live your real life with your family before worrying about the computer!
Besides, it’s not like China Adoption is going anywhere in the meantime (insert eye rolling here).

RQ: I wish I could help with your computer problems but I am very computer illiterate, it is one reason why I am so thankful for your web site.
