Looking at days vs the poll numbers
Some people are debating about whether to be happier for the days completed or the number of poll votes completed.
I’ll go for a bit of both. I’m thrilled that so many days were completed while at the same time being sad that we didn’t reach the lowest mark on the projections.
Even if ten days doesn’t denote any kind of speed up, it is still ten days to mark off of the calendar. And, likely as not, in another two months we’ll have another good stretch of days as we reach the time of the 2006 CNY.
Of course, all of this is just speculative debate right now since we aren’t positive the cut off is the 22nd. It’s looking pretty good at this point, but it is still not a sure thing.
I’ll be around today, if referrals start pouring in I’ll publish the Babies! post. I’ve got a good start on a Babies! post already, if you are expecting a referral this month and want your blog listed on it, or if you are in the SN program and want to share with us, then feel free to leave your blog name and blog URL in the comments to this thread and I’ll add it.

With a 2/17/06 LID, 10 days puts me that much closer to a referral. If 10 days comes to pass, there is a glimmer of hope that we will actually see DD’s beautiful face this year. Crossing my fingers and toes that we’ll hear some good news today …

I am right there with you. We are LID 02/15/06.
Come on referrals. I can’t wait to see these babies faces.

It is a struggle for me too, when referrals come out whether to count days or referrals. All that we have as a hard number are days (we know where we are and how far the CCAA has gotten), but the CCAA doesn’t count days, they go by referral numbers. I use to count days, I find myself now though, with a 2/28/06 LID, really using the poll numbers to determine how things are going. This 10 days don’t look much better on the poll but it doesn’t look worse either. And anyway you slice it, I am glad to mark another 10 days off the calendar.

RQ -
Why is it that you don’t consider this a “speed up” even if only a small one. By my calculations there were 107 RQ Votes for the last “batch” and if they get to the 22nd that would be 119 right?
Curious as to what I am missing especially now that we could be just 2 LIDs away!!
Thanks,M

We have a LID of 2/9/06 and are very excited to see how far they get this month. When I do the calculations from RQ’s May 22, 2008, poll, it indicates that we might get a proposal in August or September, depending on the number of LIDs and cut-off. If we make it to the 22nd this month, that would be 103 votes from January 13-22 (based on the May 22nd poll).
Momwannabe, what poll are your 107 calculations referring to?
Cheers to all!

I want to be added to the Babies post, please. We received our LOA for a little girl on the 19th of May. Our blog is http://www.journeytome.com (login:moore/pw:faith).

Although I wouldn’t consider this a definate sign of a speed up, it was sure nice to see more than 3 days!! My hope for the rest of the year is to see March started before 2008 is over! Good luck to everyone. LID 1-2007. Trying to be patient, but boy is it tough sometimes. Seeing referrals in the “double digits” sure helps. Let’s keep ‘em coming!!

Where do I find the “Good Case…Horrid Case” chart? I can’t seem to get back to that!
Thanks

10 more days off the calendar puts us on course for a Christmas referral on our 3/23 LID :)

Just the ticket -
Right after the last referrals came in I tallied the number from the latest RQ poll and there were 107 people who voted for those days.

My question is about the days that can be referred. Does CCAA give LIDs for weekend days? As January 21 and 21 2006 are Saturday and Sunday, and the cutoff is now January 20, what real difference is there between that and a cutoff date of January 22?
