Not much
The only thing out there is an agency letting their February 9th people know they aren’t likely to be in this batch. And we pretty much knew that.
I’ll be around most of the day, so if anyone hears something please get it to me.

But with CNY in there February 9th would have only made it 8 days worth of LIDs! That is if I did my math right.

With an LID of Feb. 9th I had “hoped” we’d be included in this batch, but, as we got closer and closer I “knew” we wouldn’t be. Sucks….but, hope that after this batch we will infact be NEXT! Congrats to everyone about to receive their referrals!

Anyone waiting for referral news thinking about contacting your agency today? We’re doing our best to stay off the phone but it’s hard!

Oh, call your agency. You’re next for a referral, ask if they are expecting them today or sometime this week. You’re entitled, you’ve waited over 30 months now. What are they going to do? Deny you your referral? Call them, and tell us what they say.

I second what jaclyn says…..Call them! I think for the money they receive they won’t mind a little phone call. Then tell us what the say, k? =)

I’m sure we’re going to breakdown and make a call. A person can only refresh their computer so many times and check to make certain their cell phone is charged and working!
We’re going to give them a break and wait until sometime around until mid-noon.
peace

RQ- I am understanding that the US Consulate in Guangzhou is no longer accepting updated fingerprints or I-171h in the form of orginal documents. That even if you bring your orginal documents that will not be good enough for them. I am hearing that the Consulate now requires any updated documents be sent or dispatched from your USCIS office prior to granting your child’s visa. Have you heard about this?
It seems that enough families have been stuck in Guangzhou trying to their USCIS office to send in updated docs that our Agency will not even give you travel dates until the consulate states they have all your documentation.
And in addition, your agency will not even know what is missing until they request to schedule you in the first place.
Sound like yet another horrid stumbling block on the way to being a family. Anyway, I did not know if you had heard anything about hand carried updates - “not good enough!”

Yes please make that call…..I would like to know!! You are entitled for sure after this long wait.

PickaLilly,
Don’t know if this is related to your comments, but when we renewed everything this year, it was processed differently from the first renewal. We got a form letter from our district office of Homeland Security with a new approval #-our agency says they have never had a client receive this in years of adoption processing and have always had to use the old/original number for travel papers before. This form letter was sent to both us and the consulate in Guangzhou.

Has anyone seen this horribly disturbing story on yahoo news? I really don’t recommend watching it– it made me feel sick to my stomach. But it did make me think… well, maybe I can hang in there through this horribly prolonged wait if it means getting one more little girl out of a potential situation like that.
I don’t mean to China-bash, but…

I’m sorry to ask this question, but…how do I PM RQ?

Ford… I just called…NADA, Nothing, still tight lipped as ever.

Longestwait,
I took a minute to view the web site you spoke about…well althought it is terribly disturbing….We North Americans do the same on a “different level”…all I have to do is look to my neighbourhood and to the folks I work with…they have their children enlisted in way to many “classes and sports events..” what is this saying about us..we are doing it as…maybe a little more suttle ..but, still over “doing” it with our children to succeed and be #1. We somehow have made opportunity to succeed and succeed be the same…just my view..

I broke down and called. They have not heard anything yet from the homeoffice. Tommorow my SW will be in the office - I spoke to the only gal there who deals with IA. She said she would call me if she hears anything today.
Well that was not good enough for me so I called the homeoffice. The SW was pleasant to talk but she said that they would have to advance 2 full calendar weeks in order for us to get our referral and it was highly unlikely that we would be in the next group with a 2/6/06 LID. I think she thought I was dumb. In an equally nice voice I informed her that her information is not completely accurate since CCAA covered referrals up to 1/25 and there are 8 days of CNY before me. Lo and behold, she agreed with me but doesn’t want me to get my hopes up and I should just hang in there. I asked if they receive a special email from China that states packages have left and she said they do not.
I do not mean to be sarcastic but I get tired of the wait, the secrecy, and the lack of honesty this agency has offered me. I understand we need to respect the country of China, CCAA and the big job they do but that does not make me understand why this has to be such a mystery.
Congratulations to anyone receiving a referral this month. I am truly happy for you and wish you all the best with your new family.

longestwait, I watched the video. It got me sick to my stomach as well. My heart aches for those children. I don’t even want to watch the young ones during the Olympics knowing that they were so abused. ABSOLUTELY SICKENING!

mumarlene, I do agree that there are families that push their kids WAY too far and they have WAY too many activities. Kids should be kids, not fulfill their parents dreams of a twisted view of perfection. But those poor kids in China are worked 7 days a week and God only knows how many hours. It’s a crime.
