Today??
One agency is telling their January 31st people that they are in. But, considering there really weren’t any LIDs at that time, I’m a bit confused about that. Unless that agency was estimating LIDs and told their families that was their LID so they are sticking to what they originally estimated.
At any rate, I am expecting that if it was referrals mailed out last week that most agencies will receive their package today. At least one agency in Europe has received their package already.
If anyone is expecting a referral in this batch and would like their blog listed on the Babies!!! post, please list the name of the blog and the URL of the blog in the comments to this post.
Congrats to the families who are finally so close to seeing that first picture of their child!

That Jan 31 LID fills me with hope that today might possibly be our day too. We were originally Jan 4, 06 LID. Then in March we learned that, because there was a health issue that needed additional documentation in the review room, they moved us and told our agency that we would either be matched with Feb 1 or Feb 6’s LIDs. So if Jan 31 was in– maybe, just maybe, Feb 1 is in too. Oh, please, God…
August 11th, 2008 at 8:53 am
Maybe I’m looking at the glass way too full here, but shouldn’t we all be jumping up and down with glee? If CCAA matched through the 31st (which I believe they have), that makes a 7 day batch. Even if some of those days had no LID’s, IT’S STILL A 7 DAY BATCH!! JAN 06 IS DONE!! WE’RE INTO FEB 06!! I’m not even in the program anymore and my heart is racing fast! JANUARY 2006 IS DONE!!!
August 11th, 2008 at 8:55 am
A January 31st cutoff date as me more concerned than a January 27th cutoff. Reason….
I think the CCAA will state the cutoff for “September referrals” will be Feb. 5, 2006. And as the CCAA was closed from January 28-Feb. 5, 2006 there are NO LIDS in that period. So…what that translates into is NO actual referrals in September….a possibly reason for that is that the CCAA did this on purpose as they’ve gone down to skeleton staffing during the Olympics.
There is no other reason for the CCAA to hit January 31st.

Oops, in all my excitement I added wrong. 26th to 31st would be a 6 day batch, not 7. And I call myself an accountant :)
August 11th, 2008 at 9:12 am
ChinaBabyBarnes, I don’t get it. What would the difference between a Jan 27 and Jan 31 cutoff make to your theory of no referrals in September?
Nancy
August 11th, 2008 at 9:34 am
Let’s try that again…
Maybe I’m looking at the glass way too full here, but shouldn’t we all be jumping up and down with glee? If CCAA matched through the 31st (which I believe they have), that makes a 7 day batch. Even if some of those days had no LID’s, IT’S STILL A 7 DAY BATCH!! JAN 06 IS DONE!! WE’RE INTO FEB 06!! I’m not even in the program anymore and my heart is racing fast! JANUARY 2006 IS DONE!!!
August 11th, 2008 at 9:35 am
Hi Nancy,
What I mean is that IF the CCAA is using the dates in between Jan. 28-Feb. 6th when they were closed…which is appears they are….then it is entirely possible that they will use Feb. 1-5th for matching in September…which means there would be no actual referrals.
Am I making sense?

Finally received the most exciting call from our spanish agency (ACI) annoucing the venue of our little girl !!!!

Canadian multi-country agency confirms that the CCAA has changed their site to January 31st, 2006. Agency also feels that for my Feb. 9/06 LID that September is no longer viable. They feel October is likely when my LID will receive referrals.
August 11th, 2008 at 9:55 am
chinababybarnes,
Did your agency say if they think we will see any referrals in September?
August 11th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Hi Luna…they didn’t say. All they said is that is was very disappointing and that there are 9 LID dates in front of us and they “hoped” the CCAA would do 5 days per month…which is why they feel an October 2008 referral is likely.
As I had thought the CCAA was closed I thought they’d breeze right through Jan. 28-Feb. 5th….appears the CCAA won’t be. Looks like those days are counting….
August 11th, 2008 at 10:02 am
In Spain the MTAS (spanish ministry) confirms that the CCAA has changed their site to January 31st. And some people are telling that there are some families with Jan 29/06 and Jan 31/06 LID
August 11th, 2008 at 10:16 am
Well, I find it encouraging that they are through with January 06 now. We’ll see what next month brings.
Congrats to all those people who will be or have already received referrals. So exciting!

We would like to announce the SN referral of our 4 year old son from Hainan province. We are through TA and CA and travel on Sept 4. We are very excited.

Congratulations to everyone who will get to see their children’s faces for the first time.

Bailey,
Your son jack is so cute and smiley! Congratulations!!!!
August 11th, 2008 at 10:31 am
If the CCAA has updated their box….I wonder if it means they’re back to work???
August 11th, 2008 at 10:33 am
Bailey,
OMG Jack is so handsome! Cangratulations!!
August 11th, 2008 at 10:37 am
How can they count days which don’t exist? The box would have to say something like the CCAA has referred babies for those with LIDs through February 5th - which would be no one. I hope this isn’t a real possibility but hey you never know…Maybe they just want to close out the month?

They got through six calendar days, even though it’s only two actual LIDs (due to CNY). My prediction is that next month they will get to 2/07/06, which will represent seven calendar days, but again, only two actual LIDs.
For today I only want to look forward a couple of days at most… to when we start seeing those referral announcement and the photos!!

I just thought of something…..In making the cut off 1/31….Could it be that they wanted to give us some of the non LIDs now so it doesn’t appear to be such a huge batch next month (the first batch AFTER the Olympics)?
August 11th, 2008 at 10:53 am
I should have said huge number of days, not batch.
August 11th, 2008 at 10:59 am
I agree Luna. Splitting CNY between Jan and Feb makes both batches seem more consistent and bigger than they really are. I am happy to see January closed. Come on February!

Your jack is absolutely adorable! Congratulations!

If the CCAA was closed for CNY from Jan. 28 to Feb. 5 why are thier LID entered in the poll results? Are they estimated dates or real LID.

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!….a January 31, 2006…is something we will take gladly versus the January 27th…every day that goes by…are days that are done…..Good work CCAA….Let’s move it till Feb 7, 2006…..44 LID’s away….
August 11th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
My agency also confirmed the CCAA’s portal now says referrals are up to Jan 31, 2006. (They also mention that some of those days were the weekend of CNY.) I know it’s silly, but it actual DOES make me feel better to know that they are now officially done with January. It just worries me that they didn’t say the other CNY days. But I’ll take anything these days.
-only 56 more LID’s to go!

Just got an e-mail from my Large China Only Agency saying the cut off is 1/31/2006. And they were kind enough to offer a comforting explanation of “how cut off dates work”. How nice of them, they are super swell. They are “just a phone call or e-mail away” if you need to talk. Super DUPER.
Sorry, I think I’m starting to lose it.
Goodbye January, nice knowing you. 49 LID days until our referral, but whose counting?

Don’t know if anyone here has been following our blog, but our last referral in June 08 turned out to be a SN child and we aren’t approved for SN. We just got our call today for another referral from the CCAA. What a surprise! I really wasn’t expecting to get another referral.
Very happy to have a 4.5 y/o girl referred from Heilongjiang province. We have pics and are waiting her paperwork.
RQ - if you would, could you post our site again?

Thanks to everyone who has been supportive and keeping up with our journey. I feel blessed that there are so many people who understand how devastating it was to not be able to accept the first referral.

I’m posting again…my post did not post earlier…..This is excellent news….six referral days is better than two…even if (4) are no referral days….movement is what we want to see. Way to go CCAA….44 LID’s away from a referral…the gasp is narrowing…to out daughter(s)…

Congrats and goodbye to all Jan…………………….

Congrats to all the new moms and dads! Can’t wait to see the pics tomorrow! And good bye to Jan 06!!
August 11th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
I’m not sure why the concern of whether there were lids on certain dates or not; as someone said calendar days completed are calandar days completed!! I say let’s BE HAPPY January is finished and not go looking for bad news!! Congratulations to all the new (or second time or third time, etc., etc.) moms and dads!!
August 12th, 2008 at 9:35 am
icingonthecake - I think the concern is that since CCAA was supposedly closed from 1/28-2/5/06 they would not count these days because no one was logged in. The next batch of referrals should begin on 2/6, not on 2/1 when they were closed. It seems like a small thing but a week can push referrals another month out.
Personally I would have liked to see them skip all of these days and include some of February in this batch…oddly, no one asked for my opinion :)

What do you know about the review-room? It’s very important for us to know if febr. is out of review.
