Hey Banany66, we are definitely not far away and maybe our little ones can be friends. Maybe we'll end up in one of those FCC groups, which I haven't done yet. We have 2 bio boys, 13 and 11, and then I felt I wasn't 'done' being a Mom to a little one just yet. So we kicked the idea around for a while, and here we are. Now I wish we would have moved faster, but it is what it is. Maybe CIS scheduled all the adoption appointments on that day? I hope we don't have to go back there again. We shall see.

Actually, my agency had hopeful news on the I-600 issue.
They stated that the Joint Council on International Children’s Services (JCICS) is meeting with the U.S. State Dept State in Sept to advocate for families that filed the I-600a prior to the implementation of The Hague, to be able to continue to file the I-600a with unlimited extensions, including the one free one. And they're hoping for a resolution this fall.

Waitnig for Megan, I think they just spaced out the appts. It seemed last time everyone was there at one time. The guy who did my finger prints the other day said he had alot of adoption appt. that day. I met a couple who were adopting their second special needs child from China and another adopting their second child from Korea. This is our first child adopted or Bio. Do you have any other children? My husband works at Navy Lakehurst. Not far from you. We are only 25-30 minutes away from each other. Our LIDs are only a month apart. We woill not travel together, but we can definately try to keep each other company.

Banany66, since everyone is ok, I would say the little accident can't mean much! Maybe there was the little accident to prevent you from being in a bigger one? ;-)

I just don't understand what they did with all those other people? Maybe another facility? But to have those insane crowds go down to nothing? Strange. We are 3-19-07, and don't live that far from you - we're in Brick (near Pt Pleasant). I don't know anyone else in NJ going through this process now (my agency is in Tx) - we can help to keep each other sane, especially with LIDs so close.

Waitnig for megan, Exactly! Our appt. was at 2:00 yesterday. We walked in the door, up the stairs and straight to the fingerprinting. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. Last time it was in February. We stood out in the cold for an hour then were herded into the same room. they were actually yelling at people. We were there probably two hours. Maybe it is a sign of speedy things to come. What to you think the sign means that we got into an accident in Newark? Everyone is ok, A motorcycle ran into the back of us on rte 21. We even made it to the appt. on time. Anyway, when is your LId? Where in Nj are you from? Our LId is 4-16-07. We live in near Long Beach Island.

Thanks for checking in. I had trouble with my DD when she was in preschool. The kind that tears your heart out as they wail "Please don't leave me here!!!" What ended up working for us was the wonderful book "The Kissing Hand." In fact, as my daughter enters 8th grade next week (aghh!), we still send each other off with a quick slap, clap of the Kissing Hand! Much luck!

The school year is always so crazy. I'm enjoying the 3 weeks we have left before that happens here.

Bananay66, I saw the other day that you were going to be re-fingerprinted today, and I'm assuming in Newark, since you said you lived in NJ. My husband and I had to do that today (in Newark), and I don't know about you, but we thought we slipped into the twilight zone. There was no line at all. The last time we went we waited on the street and then got funneled like cattle into a big staging area and then up a flight of stairs and then into a hallway with ropes and then finally into a waiting area. There must have been 300 or more people ahead of us for our 9:00 appointment, and I think we were there for 4 or 5 hours. I could not believe the difference this time. I took that as a sign that because we waited so much the first time around and then there was the slowdown with China, that maybe, maybe, this time because we flew out of there things would start to move in China too.

Thanks RQ. That is great that TT's school lets you hang out. I hope she gets used to it soon. I have already had a phone call from one of my boys' teachers. [Insert forced smile here.] She is very sweet and it is really not a huge deal but one of those things I have to sort of "go over" every year. At any rate, it gave me a great opportunity to get to know her a bit better, and I am thankful she is concerned about him. Anyway your post made me laugh at the last part because I have a school meeting too! Not sure I am ready for the school routine again but nonetheless it is here.

Thanks is not enough, but THANK YOU for the site!
