NSN TA’s Arriving

I’m hearing that TA’s from the most recent batch of NSN referrals are beginning to arrive.

Congrats to everyone who is so much closer to finally being able to buy those plane tickets!

Thank you for the update RQ.
Congratulations to everyone ready to travel.

Typically, after previous month’s NSN TAs arrive, we see NSN referrals within 4 business days — which would mean by this Friday, then.
    As usual.

YeeeeeHawwwwwwwwwww !!!!! Congrats to all who are sooooo close.

threebluesteps, I truly and sincerely hope you’re right!!

Not to be a downer, but I seem to remember RQ once posting that there was no correlation between the arrival of TAs and referrals. Is my recall correct? Since last month’s referrals arrived so much later than usual and there’s never been fewer than 26 days between batches (September 6th would be 26 days), and because the agencies are reporting that matching hasn’t begun (sob) I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Trying to balance between realism and optimism. Not easy!

Don’t I have better things to do today, like go to a barbeque or swim or something? Apparently not. I just researched and found that last month, TAs arrived on July 24th and referrals arrived on August 11th.

So, congratulations to everyone who got their TAs and are that much closer to their babies!!

As for those of us who are up next, we do what we’ve been doing for three years: we wait.

RayRDT…………..YES!!!!!…I read that section.,,as well…the “9th” we will take….44 – “9″ = 35 LID’s away….to our referral. I know everyone is going to pounce on me for the “5″ LID’s that were Chinese NY….at this point it does not matter…will take “9″…..whoa hooo!!!!!

    Hi RQ,

I just wanted to thank you for that posting you made on how you potty trained your daughter.

I took advantage of 3 straight days of being home with my daughter (no shopping, no going out at all, no going on the carpeted areas of our house, nor sitting on couches) to follow your steps exactly and presto my 3-yr old daughter is now potty trained!

Our older daughter got Smarties as well for using the potty even though she’s been potty training for 3 years already, which was a great source of frustration for 3 yr old who wasn’t allowed any until she used the potty – but they do indeed catch on quickly when Smarties or M&Ms are dangled in front of them!

Like your daughter, our 3-yr old had been adamant about NOT using the potty, in fact she would tell us she was “I’m a little girl, NOT a big girl”. I laid the groundwork for potty training about 4 days ahead of time by telling her that soon she would stop wearing diapers and would use the potty (to which she answered “not yet!”) She needs things done her way, so I answered “yes, that’s right, not yet, but SOON!”

Then 2 days before potty training began, I brought my 3-yr old with me to take my older daughter’s size 2 underwear out of storage and she placed them herself in her drawer. She actually wanted to wear a pair right away, but I made her REALLY want them by telling her, no, she had to wait! Ha! Ha! That got her very interested in potty training!

By the time we started 2 days later, she was primed and seeing her older sister get Smarties for using the potty did the rest, I’d say!

    So thanks again, RQ.

    Dear RQ:

What about NSN LOA’s arriving with that batch of NSN TA’s? Do you have any Intelligence collected on that also?

We received our referral in March ’08 for an NSN child who will be 7 yrs old next week, and got a photocopy in both Chinese and English of the PA from CCAA to our agency that was dated the last week of June notifying of our approval to adopt. However, we’ve been waiting on the actual LOA for us to sign and get back to CCAA. Our referral was a traditional “paper referral” (i.e., not the new electronic system) and a full two months have elapsed since getting that PA. We’ve been waiting for the Olympics to end so we could get our LOA to confirm our final acceptance (and the CCAA’s final approval). At this rate, the wait has been driving us just totally NUTS.

I’ve been studying Mandarin at night and weekends for the past year and a half, wrote a letter in Chinese to our referral (with my tutors’ help, of course) introducing ourselves and describing our life and how we fell in love with our referral on sight of the photos, and it’s all ready to go along with a photo book of us, our home, our pets, and the new elementary school five minutes from our home.

I just can’t wait to send these so we can connect with our kid, but we’re holding off until we get that LOA. The wait is driving us crazy, being so close but yet so far.

Do you have any info at all on NSN LOA’s arriving as well?
    Thanks,
    Dom

I just read the rumor that the 9th is the cut off! Could it really be true? If so, it’s much better than I expected this month!!!

  13. cjsuper Says:

RQ are you there? Is there ANY confirmation that the cut off is the 9th?
As always, we totally appreciate your information!
