Referrals arriving in EuropeI’m told that referral phone calls are being made this morning in Europe. I’ll put the Babies! post up later today. My agency in an European country got referrals today! And they also confirmed the 28.2. cutoff, which they wouldn’t do unless the CCAA box said so.
My most heartfelt congratulations to all who are getting the best Christmas present ever!!!

Can it really be happening…finally? We are anxiously awaiting our grandchild in this batch. I feel like I’ve had 10 cups of coffee (only had one, honest!) My blood sugar is high (stress, but good stress) and I don’t want to call my daughter just to have the phone ring and have it be “just Mom” when they really want to hear from their agency. Best wishes for all waiting parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings….well, you know! Happy New Year!

It’s really not much, but there is a news report out of Sweden today that makes a tenuous – at best – connection between China’s economic down turn and a possible speed up.

Wow! Didn’t expect that when I logged on today. That’s great news. Congrats to all PAPs who will be recieving your precious bundles soon.
I am so hoping that the speed up will happen in 2009. Even 16 more months is better than 2 or 3 more years.

I think the article is very upsetting and I have a hard time believing that the Swedish agency mentioned has said what the article says they did (use link above to read it!). I hope no one here or in any other country is hoping for an economic down turn to lead to more adoptable babies! That may very well be what will happen, but to HOPE for it is a terrible thing!!!

I read the article that way at first. It made my stomach turn.
It could be interpreted different ways though.
“Many Swedes are hoping that an economic crisis in China will make it easier to adopt Chinese babies.”
It could read they are hoping for an economic crisis, but China IS in an economic crisis, so it could mean since there already IS an economic crisis they hope China will make more babies available for IA.
Either way it’s written poorly and shame on the paper.
But, I’m going to give the agency and Swedes the benefit of the doubt and interpret it as acknowledging a possible crisis and hoping IF that crisis indeed happens, that babies are able to find homes.

I am so excited, I can’t believe we are finished with February LID!!!! I am so happy for everyone who received referrals!! Bring on MARCH!! Our LID is 3/27/06. I can’t wait to see all of the pictures. I am amazed to think Chloe has been born and is waiting on us!!!!

For those of you that might remember…we were the LID 2/23/2006 that DID NOT get our referral at the beginning of the month…it was devistating!
But, as I wrote in our blog…IT IS A NEW DAY! And, we recived our referral today…and WE HAVE PICTURES!
Thank you to everyone for the encouraging words and prayers during this hard month!
I hope everyone follows our trip! I know that when I was (and still kind of am!) waiting for this moment and I never thought it would happen…it helped to watch others who were getting thier baby!

THEY GOT THE CALL! Just talked to my daughter, THE NEW MOM! Their eastern U.S. agency called them with the basic info on their baby girl. She is almost 10 months old, in Guandong Province. We should be seeing her picture within minutes!

GRAMMAG, CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!
So exciting, just checked out the website…… can’t wait to see a picture.
Congratulations to everyone getting their referrals !!! I can only pray that we are indeed finished with the month of February, and into March……. my log in month……. this would truly be a Miracel, and wonderful close to the years end.
