A Free Ebook, and A Free First Look
Free Ebook: Harper Collins has the entire first book of the Rachel Morgan/Hollows series, Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison available online. This is not a sneak peak, the whole book can be read online for free. You can read it here (the book actually starts on about the 12th page, everything before is reviews and acknowledgments). This is an incredible series, with a lot of depth below the plots and characters. The universe building is interesting, a take on various supernaturals that I don’t believe anyone has ever come up with before. I did a full review of it here if you’d like to know more. Someone asked me to come up with a top ten list the other day, I’m pretty sure this series will be on that list. Maybe even top five. And here is a perfect way to try the series out for yourself. For free.
Free First Look: And for those who are already a fan and are waiting for the release of the seventh book in the series, White Witch, Black Curse, to come out in a few weeks, they’ve got the first two chapters up that you can read now. The first chapter had me almost in tears. And the second chapter reminded me of something I’d forgotten, that there is a transracial adoption in this series. Well, technically it’s a stepfather adoption, since the dad adopted the child of the woman he married, but the mom was killed long ago and the dad did most of the raising. In chapter two of White Witch Black Curse the son ends up in the hospital and we hear later that the dad had to wrangle with the hospital before being able to see his son, since the hospital didn’t want to believe they are related because they don’t look alike. Anyway, if you want to read the first two chapters, they are here.
The books in this series are:
* Dead Witch Walking (2004)
* The Good, the Bad, and the Undead (2005)
* Every Which Way But Dead (2005)
* A Fistful of Charms (2006)
* For a Few Demons More (2007)
* The Outlaw Demon Wails (2008)
* White Witch, Black Curse (February 2009)

Does anyone care about the arrival of TA’s? I am hearing they are ready, but waiting for the consulate date.

RQ,
Did you read The Host by Stephenie Meyer ? If you did, what did you think ? Did you like it more or less than Twilight ?
BTW, I ordered the books you recommended … Thanks :)

You want me to just make something up? If there are no rumors, I can’t report on them. It isn’t that no one cares. Please!

Ray – no, I did not read it. I’ve been on the lookout for it to hit the used book store but have not seen it yet. Let me know what you like and didn’t like when you read the books!

RQ – I wasn’t complaining at you at all. I know you tell what you know and I appreciate all you do. I just don’t understand China sometimes. Please don’t think everyone is complaining at you. I just want my sweet baby.
