This is an incredible series, with a lot of depth below the plots and characters. The universe building is interesting, a take on various supernaturals that I don’t believe anyone has ever come up with before. I did a full review of it here if you’d like to know more. Free First Look: And for those who are already a fan and are waiting for the release of the seventh book in the series, White Witch, Black Curse, to come out in a few weeks, they’ve got the first two chapters up that you can read now. The first chapter had me almost in tears. And the second chapter reminded me of something I’d forgotten, that there is a transracial adoption in this series. Well, technically it’s a stepfather adoption, since the dad adopted the child of the woman he married, but the mom was killed long ago and the dad did most of the raising. In chapter two of White Witch Black Curse the son ends up in the hospital and we hear later that the dad had to wrangle with the hospital before being able to see his son, since the hospital didn’t want to believe they are related because they don’t look alike.
