As you get your phone calls
Calls happened in Australia last night and they are happening in Europe now. The expectation is that as soon as deliveries begin happening in the US and Canada that we’ll see them here as well.
So far the latest reported phone call is for a LID of 3/6. There are no reports of the box changing yet, so it looks like we will have to wait to see who gets a phone call and who does not to be able to figure out the cut-off date.
If anyone with a LID of 3/7 or later gets a phone call, please either leave it in the comments or drop me a quick email (or PM) about it.
And, as always, if you are expecting a referral in this batch and want your blog listed on the Babies!!! post, leave the blog name and blog URL in the comments.

I’m interested to know where the rumours of Australian referrals are coming from. I am Australian and haven’t seen one referral announcement on the Australian boards yet and unless things have changed since the placement of our daughter in 2005, Australia don’t usually receive referrals first?

Australia does generally receive them first, as they are closest to China and transit times for the packages are the least.
However, some states in Australia verify and translate everything before contacting families. So for those states, the families do indeed end up getting referrals pretty close to “last”.
There are a few states in Australia who contact families as soon as they receive the packet though, and that state happened to receive referrals this time, so we’re seeing Australia get phone calls “first” this time. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen.
As for why the families are posting here and not the Australian boards? I have no idea.
