Rumors
I’m seeing multiple agencies who are giving their clients the idea that the next two months could cover more days than we might be expecting them to cover.
I don’t have specific dates I can share, but if these agencies are correct then we’re looking at something around the Winter ’08 column on the projections. Some agencies are slightly better, some are slightly worse – but all seem to be in that general time frame for the next two months.
This is still down around the R2 level.

RQ~ have any agencies given their families any reason for this expected speed up?

Our agency director told us a about a week ago when we were at the office that his people in China said a speed-up was coming but was not sure when this would happen. The reasons were a change in the regulations of domestic adoptions and also because of the increase in orphanage fees for international adoption. Maybe the agencies RQ referred to is hearing the same info. I sure hope this is true. LID 4/3/06

Holy crap, that would be awesome! And would it not represent at least a small speedup, albeit only 2 month’s worth? Heck, I’ll take 2 months of a speedup over no speedup of all. Thanks RQ, and I hope this R2 moves up to an R3 very soon!

Could it be that these agencies don’t realize just how many LIDs are registered in March, and therefore are expecting the “typical” number of days to be referred–not realizing how very big the days actually are, and therefore thinking that the CCAA will get further than we think? If agencies don’t have access to something like RQ’s polls that show just how enormous the days are, they would be expecting the “norm” (whatever that is). It would be so very wonderful if CCAA did surprise us with much more than we are expecting, but the number of March LIDs are just so huge that it’s hard to imagine a speed-up during this month in particular.

We heard this before and you know? Early rumors turned out to be bad, very bad. So do not get your hopes upon this rumor! I feel so sorry for those who do and than be kicked in the back at the end of the month.
On the other hand…. there HAS to be a change, once… right? And we are hearing rumours for better times to come soon, aren’t we?
I do not get my hopes up any more but….
You know what I mean?

Even if the rumor turns out to be wrong, it’s nice to experience some momentary glee during this long, long, unending journey. I think my soul needs a break every once in a while from being in the dumps. So I’m saying YIPPEEE!!!

I want to believe it, really I do, but I don’t. There have been too many rumours of a speedup over the 30 months we’ve been logged in that I just can’t believe it until I see it.
I hope I’m wrong.

Everyone knows most times these types of rumors turn out to be false, but I think we all want have at least brief moments of hope for a speed up. I would think eventually the rumors would need to be true. My agency also said things were looking good. They spoke with their contact in China twice this last month and were told that the change in rules for domestic adoption along with the increase in donation fees is having an effect on the movement of the babies paperwork. With a May 11 ’06 LID the contact in China said we would have 6 months (ish). That is the first time I have not heard gloom and doom from them in a long time. I know that a few weeks from now we might have a one day batch and have our hopes dashed, but for this moment it is nice to think that maybe this is the time the rumors are right.

I am really hoping this is true.. I believe, I believe… Is all I can do..
I will not listen to negative and just wish and hope for the positive..
My China only agency has changed their box to say that referrals till March 6, 2006 have been meet, so now I am wondering why the CCAA has not? Our agency never changes theirs until CCAA does..

Here we go again. Please do not get your hopes up about this rumor. Until we see in numbers of referrals a speed up there is not reason to think this time the rumor is different.

I’ll play, I have also seen a number of folks say their agency has told them a speed-up is coming….Even my agency, very conservative says April/May for speedup…anything would help!

I’ll hop on this rollercoaster ride, heck we live in Orlando and are surrounded by roller coasters….what’s one more…..
I did get a “whheeee” feeling in my tummy when I read this post and looked at RQ’s prediction chart again…..with this rumor our family, lid 4/3/06 would see our Lily’s face July or August of this year……woa it feels good to dream that it would be that soon!
but I am bracing myself for the spooky drop that’s looming ahead……..I’ve been on this ride for a long time – so I know the course!

Our agency finally confirmed that the last cutoff was March 6th….so, we’re Next !!! So excited!!! And so hoping for ‘the call’ in the next few weeks !!!

I am like many others; I will believe it when I’ll see it. By the way, what China has said may be they wish there will be a speed up soon, because many times they did say they were wishing and everybody took that for cash.

The funny thing about all this is None of us knows what tommorrow will bring. Speculating on how many days China will burn through is always just a guess. Statistically the past does not predict the future but its all we have to look at. That being said, there is just as much a possibility that we will see a huge speed up as we will see it slow down even further. I hope and pray for a speed up of course…

This is what some friends told us who work at SWi’s.
The CCAA has been in charge of domestic adoptions, for a couple of years, however, it hasn’t been properly regulated because families are adopting but directly with SWI’s.
They have taken their time putting any concrete rules in place. Kind of like IA, I knew, as well as many others that back in 2005 that the CCAA was going to change it’s rules with regards to IA, however, at that time it was just rumors as they were not implemented. That happened in May 2007. I am assuming they have now decided to officially regulate DA. Our guide adopted a baby girl, and she told us that the CCAA was putting DA as a priority, but I believe she went directly to the SWI and did her adoption with them. The Directors of some of the SWI’s still make the decisions as to whether they will allow any children to be IA. As per usual, this is not fact, just what I have been told by various people in China. My Asian family said that
domestic adoptions have always happened, and she said that affluent couples adopt without any government knowledge.

Seeing is believing. I will expect the normal tiny referral batch. If it happens to be larger than expected I will be pleased. If it happens to be tiny I won’t be disappointed.
The only thing I can be certain of when it comes to speed up rumors is that they are just that – rumors.
Sorry to sound like a “dendaroo downer” but I don’t need the rug pulled out from under me more than 5 or 6 times before I learn not to get my hopes up.
ps for what it’s worth I would love to eat my words.
