Rumors
I’ve got a report of one agency saying that referrals have been signed.
The grapevine is saying there is a family with a different agency who has been told to expect a phone call Tuesday. But that’s a head scratcher, because if referrals are mailed on Friday then they begin showing up Monday. If they are mailed on Monday then sometimes we may see a few on Tuesday, but most of the time they arrive on Wednesday. Generally, if we see them on Tuesday then they are mailed on Saturday or Sunday, and that usually happens on the weekend before a holiday. Tomb Sweeping Day is Saturday April 4th, and I believe the CCAA will have Monday April 6th off, but that is a week away. It is possible they worked Saturday though, so they can be off all next weekend plus be off Monday.
At any rate, we’ve got the one rumor saying referrals have been signed off on, and the other that would lead us to believe they’ve been shipped already.
I’m keeping it at an R2 for now. Hopefully we’ll have some more agencies chime in. Or, better yet, maybe we’ll see phone calls soon.

WhooHoooo!!!! What a way to start the new week. Hoping there is more good news soon and more agencies confirm they are in the air or even landing.

I’m not sure if this is on topic or not, but is there a possibility that the reason we are not hearing rumors or that CCAA isn’t allowing information as readily anymore is because they are upset about sites like this? Do we matter that much to them? Do they really watch?
We all love it because there doesn’t seem to be anywhere else to get a clue about what is going on, but do you think they are responding with a lack of info and making it more and more difficult because they just don’t want anyone to know what they are up to before they actually do something? I know they cannot take it away from us, but they can take away how readily information is released.
Am I crazy?

I started doing this in December of 2005, I’m pretty sure they are used to me by now.
This goes in cycles. And, in the past when they’ve stopped the rumors it has usually been in response to the agencies complaining to the CCAA about their clients knowing things before they know something. Or, as in the case of the box, complaining that the CCAA published the cut off date before the referrals arrived, and the agencies had to field so many phone calls from people demanding to know where there referral was since the CCAA website showed a cut off date past their LID. THAT is why they stopped posting the box when referrals were signed.
I’m told the reasoning for pulling it behind the scenes is similar – agencies wanted to be the sole source of information, so the CCAA put it in a place that only the agencies can see.

We have a LID of 3-9-06 and I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight!! We’re realists and know that we’ll be lucky to get in this month, but we’ve also been following RQ for over three years and feel that there is a good chance we might be!! RQ, every person I’ve told about adoption I’ve also told that YOU are the reason we are still in the process… we would have dropped out years ago because the wait (without info) would have driven us INSANE!! Thank you so, so much!!! You are truly the reason we will adopt our baby!! Good luck everyone!!!

When you heard about the referrals being signed and about a family being told to expect a call, did you get any info about their LIDs? Are you still hearing the rumors that the cut-off could be somewhere between the 9th and the 13/14th? Since I’m the 10th, I’m trying to figure out if I should get me hopes up or put them aside until next month….well hopes are up, but I can try. Thanks:)

Aren’t there some agencies that receive referrals and then take a day to translate/verify info before making calls? Maybe this is the case with the agency expecting to make calls on Tuesday? Hopefully we’ll have some rumors we can really sink our teeth into by morning. Better yet, lets see some referrals!!!
