Today’s post is a new look at referral pictures – it’s about what happens later, once the baby has a family.

OK, I made it through receiving our referral photos last night without crying — I was just completely, totally stoked and happy.

Wow, what a beautiful post – best one yet. All the babies are so very beautiful and growing up so fast. I remember the “Dunedin’s” picture so well. That was the very first referral photo I saw since we began our adoption. We started in Jan 2006 and are still waiting with a LID of 08-08-06. I was so excited the first time I got that email from our agency on the stork alert and then saw her picture afterwards that I printed it out just to show my friends what I have to look forward too one day. It’s nice to see her photo again and see how much she’s changed. Thanks for bringing back old memories.

What amazed me about this post is how long I have apparently been checking out referral posts on RQ. I think I had seen 90% or more of these referral photos, but how lovely to see the kids now. So, so cute!

Aw, thanks alisonsmom. The whole post made me cry! Definitely the best, and I’m so glad RQ is planning to do it again. I love seeing all those gorgeous babies!
Baby Emory’s picture is one that my husband took on the side while we were having her professional pics done. So it’s a sneak peak of some soon-to-come photos on our blog (the link is always in my sig). It was so hard to pick just one. The girl doesn’t ever take a bad picture.

I have never posted at this site but check it regularly to see what is going on. I had to post after I saw Sarahkate60120’s pictures. Your daughter looks so much like my oldest daughter (now 7 from Hefei) that I had to ask what province she is from. Wow…it’s like looking at old photos.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing post! Thank you everyone for sharing your pictures. It is very emotional to see these beautiful little ones blossom into such special children. It is amazing for me, as I’ve been around here since 2006, to see some of the referral pictures and recognize them and then to see that they are so much older now… Time has flown by really.

Thanks, RQ, for this beautiful post! We just got our referral, and wonder all day long what our baby girl will be like when we finally meet her and what she’ll be like as she grows up. I found a website about 3 1/2 years ago which was devoted entirely to Then and Now pix, but I can’t find it now. If anybody knows of it, I’d love to hear. We’ll post when I get done creating a blog..

I can’t believe how much your daughter’s picture reminds me of my daugher, I thought it was actually my daughters picture put up. The likeness is scary. If you don’t mind me asking how old is she now and what province is she from. I would swear they are related. Olivia is from Nanfeng SWI in Jiangxi Province and is 3 1/2 years old. I hope this email finds you as I have been thinking about this since the picture was posted and I just need to know if they could possibly be related….I know long shot, but if I didn’t ask I’d just keep on thinking about it and drive me nuts
