Finally, Friday Evening

I planned to put a blog post up this morning but I walked into a mess at work and it didn’t let up all day. I’m home now and I’m really glad tomorrow is Saturday.

The CCAA has been closed for a few days for the Dragon Boat Festival. Let’s hope that we have some rumors Monday morning.

For the first time in a really long time I find myself between books with nothing on my TBR pile that is calling out to me. There are books, but nothing I feel like reading at the moment. I’m looking forward to reading Skin Trade, the latest Anita Blake book that is due to be released next week, but I don’t have anything this weekend calling out to me. The early reviews of Skin Trade have this book hearkening back to the early books in the series, and I have high hopes. I’ve recently read through all 16 books again, so I’m really waiting for number 17.

This weekend I plan to go through the girls’ closets and pull out everything that doesn’t fit anymore and box up GG’s clothes for TT to wear later, and box up TT’s clothes for charity. I usually do that earlier in the spring, but with the bizarre weather we’ve been having, long sleeves were worn a lot later than normal.

As I type, GG and TT are dancing around the den to “Start Pumping up the Party Now”. This might be a moment for the video camera.

I need comfort food. I’m trying to decide between a strong margarita, or heating the oven up for chocolate chip cookies. Either would work right now, but I’m thinking I want this to be a family thing, so it’s probably going to be cookies.

    RQ,
A nice glass of red wine goes great with chocolate chip cookies…

I say go for broke, chocolate chips and a margarita.

And not to be a pest but I hate not knowing the end of the story, what happened with Uncle Dopey?

How about cookies before bedtime for the while family and then margaritas for you and RK after the kiddos are in bed!!!

Have you read the In Death series by JD Robb? It my fave!!! It’s not supernatural at all. It’s futuristic crime drama with a healthy dose of romance. It’s excellent.

If margaritas with cookies is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

With the way my week went…

Skip the margarita and go directly to straight shots of tequila while mainlining chocolate.

Probably not a family activity, though.

I have a cousin who is living in Beijing right now and she said the holiday was the 28th and everything has since been open. So lets hope that we do indeed see something this week coming..

It is my understanding that the entire CCAA office was closed Thursday and Friday, and that a good portion of the office was out Wednesday or part of Wednesday.

I ended up with just the chocolate chip cookies. I guess it’s just me, but it’s an either or thing for me, the sweet goodness of the cookie, or the salty tang of the margarita.
