Some rumors
An agency has reported that matching is complete. No one has let me know which agency is saying it, though. And, depending on who is reporting it, either matches are about to be mailed, or there is no word on when they will be mailed. If someone could send me the exact wording and the agency (privately), that would be wonderful. (Got it, thanks!)
Another agency is telling their 20th people they are in, and a third agency is telling their 21st people that they think they are in.
And yet another agency thinks we should know something on Friday or Monday. They don’t say if we’ll know the cut off, or if referrals will be here, or what. It’s just a very cryptic “something” we will know.
I’m not putting anything above an R2 at this point in time.
UPDATE: The rumor that matching is complete is an R3.
UPDATE #2: Another agency speaking up, saying the cut off is the 20th. Still an R2 for now.

Oh my God. Could this be? I’m so excited!! And so so sick to my stomach. Have that nervous/nauseous feeling all of a sudden. Four years that we’ve been waiting for this glorious day. I’m having a hard time concentrating on work right now. Feel like I have to start packing!! Oh my God. Char… we’re almost there! Our little girls are coming home. And even if we miss this month by a day, which I so hope and pray will not happen, next month is our turn!
Thank you RQ for keeping us all informed. I don’t know how we would have gotten by without you! Thank you, God, for the strength you’ve given us all and the patience you’ve blessed me with to get through these four, long and painful years. (And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t have the patience to sit and have her nails done!!)
Good luck everyone! Here’s hoping and praying that referrals go much farther than the 21st!

Emily’s Mom… you took the words right out of my mouth. I feel like I need to go to Babies R Us right now!
Even if the cut off is prior to your LID, I think it’s pretty safe to say you are next.

ash2008-
Last “months” referrals included 111 RQ family’s. Getting to the 20th would be 77 RQ members and getting to the 21st would be 129…I think we are all hoping not to be referring less people then the month before.
Come on 3/21!!!

I am so excited!!!!!!!! I can hardly sit still to type this message. Fly Stork Fly!!!!! I can’t wait to see what the cut off is. Our LID is 3/27/06,I can’t believe in the next few months our wait will be over. If the CCAA would do a seven day batch the next time we will be in. I can’t believe I am typing those words. Congrats to everyone who is about to see your little ones face!!!

If they only get to the 20th, I have a bad feeling we may get a 2 day batch next time. March 21st is a large day. Sigh….
June 17th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
I agree momto4hopefully……..and to add to that, the next month could also be 2 days and the month after that 4 days (but only 2 working days)……..of course that is if the number of referrals stay about the same (about 70 on the older poll). That would put March finishing in October.
As always…….I hope for more.
Regardless……congratulations to those who are oh so very close to seeing their child’s face for the first time!

re: the last post of the woman who thinks China does not owe us an explanation… they do owe us an explanation this is the second time we are going through this process. We are helping fund their orphanages, and pad the pockets of the officials of the provinces your daughters will be coming from, they will make you stay in your daughter’s orhanage city in a hotel for a week only to spend money in their hotels and stores – if you have not adopted from China before wait until you hand over 40 unblemished one hundred dollar bills and watch them stick it in thier pockets instead of going to needy children. We are offering a loving home, sacrificing to pay their fees, and they expect we can just put our lives on hold for four years without a simple explanantion ? You gotta be kidding me!

That would be wonderful to see the 21st, but even better if we were done with March. Congrats to all those waiting for a referral, i’m very happy for each of you.

This response bothered me:
‘they will make you stay in your daughter’s orhanage city in a hotel for a week only to spend money in their hotels and stores’
I cherished the time in my daughter’s city, didn’t feel like I was MADE to stay, and you only have to spend money if you want to. We went on all the tours, but were never made to spend money in stores we didn’t want to.
‘ – if you have not adopted from China before wait until you hand over 40 unblemished one hundred dollar bills and watch them stick it in thier pockets instead of going to needy children.’
How do you know that?! That sounds very presumptuous to me.
Maybe I am just overly optimistic, and hate to see such pessimistic views being put out there.
I am excited for all of you expecting good news soon.

I agree with quitecontent – what an awful attitude phillynutman has about a country who has already given him a most precious gift!
June 18th, 2009 at 1:09 am
We are not citizens of China. This is IA. When we pay taxes in our home countries we are entitled to certain information and expect certain results such as safety, welfare, etc… in exchange. I don’t think the fees we pay to China entitles us to anything. In domestic adoption there is no guaranteed time frame for placement. Why should IA be different?
My guide handed over the desk at the office the fees for our 6 families for the 4 orphanages our kids came from for them to disperse however that’s done. The fee is paid in Yuan currently.
350 – 100 YUAN bills can’t fit into anyone’s pocket.
There is a simple explaination. There are more applying than children they are prepared to match currently. It’s an irritating explaination bordering on irrational..
You are so close. I hope your referral comes soon. The last few months are the hardest part of the wait.
I must be really optimistic. I just got in line again.
If it’s true we are starting to get referral batches for more than a couple of days. Gosh almost a week. It’s exciting. Soon someone’s wait will be over.

Wow. Some strong opinions there. Two things come to my mind in response. First, you seem to have a fairly negative attitude about your previous stay in China, presumably for your first adoption. I was very thankful to have a week in my daughter’s province. Those first few days are ones totally focused on the new child. I don’t think any of us ventured out of the hotels for two days. These babies are traumatized and the focus is on them and them alone. By the third day, we were given (not MADE) the opportunity for some excursions. I spent the rest of the week trying to absorb what I could of the province where my daughter lived her first year. My memories will be all she has of that time. I considered it an honor and my duty to learn all I could. I spent afternoons wandering around parks, temples and bookstores immersing myself with the local people who were, by the way, some of the kindest people I have ever met. Two of my favorite photos from the time there are of Isabel surrounded by local children who felt no hesitation to walk up and engage her (and me.)
I certainly understand your frustration. But… and a big but… don’t confuse corruption within a political system with a whole country of people. It’s easy to lash out in anger. I am sure that in some ways, it’s healthy. This wait is beyond ridiculous. While I have been home for almost 2.5 years, I have family still waiting for a referral. My cousin, who was logged in less than 8 months after me, is still waiting and in all likelihood, won’t see her daughter until next spring. Believe me, I understand the anger toward the wait.
What I don’t understand is how you can think that such anger is not going to be picked up by your daughters. Please consider looking at the situation differently. Our children will have to encounter enough anger and prejudice in their lives from strangers; they don’t need to get it from us as well.

Congratulations to everyone about to meet their children for the first time. Which is the whole point in being here! Enjoy yourselves as your family grows, such a wonderful experience.

I want to clarify that i am not not a negative person and our experience in our daughter’s city was an experience that we will cherish for a lifetime. We adopted our first daughter many years ago and we did have an extremely difficult experience during our process and on our trip with things i would describe as “bait and switches” while in her province.
We have had a very dificult experience with our second process as much as many of you are experiencing as well. I was venting on this board and maybe this is not the forum to do that, so please forgive me – my wife told i was too harsh! :(
Our little girl is almost 7 and we honor her culture and cannot wait to be back in China to get our second daughter hopefully in the fall.
I am new to this and have enjoyed reading posts by all of you. Please forgive me for venting – I am a very opptimistic individual who is getting very frustrated with this process of redoing paperwork and homestudies and trying to predict when we will be traveling for my work life ect..
I do have trouble believing so of the responses we have been getting from our agency and the lack of info they have. The idea that China running low on babies cannot be true- simply do the math with the amount of people in China.
I look forward to continuing dialogue !
PNM :)
