maya wrap! maya wrap! my daughter will turn 5 in a few weeks, and i confess... i used it last night, after she fell asleep in the car on the way to the airport to pick up her grandfather. i didn't have the stroller in the car....so i just harnessed her to me, and it was like she was 1 all over again. i'm a big fan. does a great job distributing the weight over large section of your body.

didn't like baby bjorn, as it caused intense lower back strain, even with the lower back support built in...

We used the BabyBjorn with our first. I liked it up until my son became too heavy (about 6 mo.) My husband never liked it. It gave him back pain immediately and when the child was a bit bigger my DH kept getting kicked in the privates by my DS.
For this child we are getting an Ergo. I have carried a friend's child who was 16mo. old on a full day of hiking in the mountains with absolutely no issues. It also was very easy to pack up.

Wow, congratulations Dori and family! I hope that means that all the March 21 families will be getting a surprise.

Now back to the carriers, we took two different carriers with us but only used one - a hip panda. It was easy on, easy off, adjusted easily and quickly for either DH or myself and not complicated like the other one. I have some major back issues and it was not too hard on me. It was great for BabyGirl to be close and I was hands free. And BabyGirl loved it so much that she would bring it to us to go for a walk. And once DH used it he wouldn't even try the other one!

No actually I am with a canadian agency and I have not heard of anyone else. I am so excited. I am going to call the other families in my group tomorrow.

I am shocked to have received this referral and am unsure what it means. I fully expected a referral in the next batch so I am just as confused. Perhaps we will all start to hear more by tomorrow. Best of Luck.

DH and I both wore our son in the NoJo baby sling by Dr Sears. The last time I remember using it DS was 3 1/2 years old. He was a big boy at 35 lbs and 41 inches and I had no trouble. (I'm 5'7")

I love slings for little babies, either the peanut shell or a zolowear ring sling (infinitely adjustable which is great if you want just one carrier for both parents). There are many ways to carry a baby with them so you can find just the right way that works for your kid. Once they are bigger I like the ergo or a Mei Tai (we use a toddler hawk). They are also infinitely adjustable and there is something to be said for strapping a feisty toddler to your back where they can't reach anything.
