Scruggs Family Story

Harper is home.

http://jayscruggs.livejournal.com/

And here is the Washing Post story.

I started to title this blog post A Happy Ending… but in reality, it’s just the beginning.

Welcome home, little Harper.

And now I have to make my way to the restroom to fix my make up before anyone at work realizes I’ve been crying.

Oh, man! I’ve been weepy all day and thought I had finally gotten myself straightened out…until reading this!!! So happy for them!

So glad this family is finally reunited. I kept reading their blog and prayed their reunion would not be too long. As a Canadian I am very greatfull that our laws, spares adoptive families of these possible ordeals. I sincerely hope no US families and childen in China will have do deal with this.

Jeez, should have worn waterproof mascara today!

I am so hoping the attachment process & trust building goes as smoothly as it can for this little girl & her family.

Did anyone else catch the Reader’s Comments at the bottom of the Washington Post column?
…again with the “Selfish” comments for not adopting from the USA… and a load of mean-spirited, uninformed comments about the TB.

I just read all of the comments people left, and I must say I wanted to reach thru the computer and smack the ones who are so Stupid for lack of a better word. It’s a shame that people are still ignorant and biased. I am happy for Harper and her family, I hope no one else encounters this type of treatment. And God Bless every person out there who will love a child no matter where there from. Because they deserve a loving family just the same.

I’m glad she’s home. I’m wondering how she’ll adjust to daycare now? I hope it goes smoothly for her. She’s been through so much.

Glad to see her home with her family hopfuly Harper will be able to heal from this and enjoy her new family life and every one can start bonding for good. Still can’t emagine the pain for everyone because they had to leave her in China.
