Other software
Still talking about software I use, none of these need as much explanation as DropBox did, so I’ll cover them all in one post:
- AVG (free edition – An antivirus program.)
- Zone Alarm (free version – A firewall.)
- WinAmp (free – has several 80′s radio stations I like)
- Irfan View (small and quick image viewing software)
- 7 Zip (free zipper and unzipper, can handle most compression types, also compresses tighter than most other compression utilities)
- Microsoft Reader
- Mobipocket Reader
- Open Office (Free office suite – I have Microsoft Office at work, but I’m too cheap to put that on all of my home computers, and Open office works just fine for me.)
- Firefox (As it turns out, I’ll be using IE on my Tablet, since the touch functions are integrated into it, and that is apparently not available with Firefox. But on all of my other computers, I prefer Firefox)
I think that’s it for the free items. I use Paint Shop Pro, which I’ve paid for. I prefer it to Photo Shop, plus it’s less expensive than Photo Shop. My version is several years old though, not sure how the current version stands up to the other programs available now.

I need a recommendation. I plan to do a lot of writing.
I want a lap top type thingy (techno challenged here)
where I can use a word processing program, save my information and then print it out. I really don’t need internet services as I already have that. I just basically want something where I can write, save and print. Is there such a thing?
