New CCAA Director

I am hearing that there will soon be a new director at the CCAA. One of the current Vice Directors, Mr. Zhang, will be replacing Mr. Lu.

I don’t have any further information at this time. If anyone out there can confirm this, please do. Also, if any of you have any insights about what this may (or may not) mean for the program, please share – either in the comments, or privately to me via email or PM.

JCICS has a statement confirming this. They say nothing will change. We’ll see.

My agency only gives us info if they are 100% sure. Last week they announced this change, but they said they don’t know when this change will take place.

Joint Council has learned that after 8-years as Director General of the China
Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA), Mr. Lu Ying has been appointed to a position
within the Ministry of Social Affairs. Joint Council extends its considerable
appreciation to Director General Lu for his years of dedicated service to the
children of China and his leadership in ensuring that Chinese orphans live in a
permanent family. Please join us in wishing Director General Lu much good
fortune in his new position and the best that life has to offer.

A new Director General will soon take on the responsibilities of leading the
CCAA. As more info rmation becomes available, we will publish it as
appropriate. At this time, no significant policy changes are expected from the
    CCAA.

Joint Council again thanks Director General Lu for his continued commitment to
    children and families.
