A few rumors

First, we’ve got an agency who thinks matching is complete, they just aren’t sure when everything will be signed and mailed. I’ll put that rumor into the high R2 or low R3 range. Before someone asks: No cut off date is mentioned.

And second, I’m beginning to hear rumors about the CCAA further dividing up manpower, so that there will be a completely separate department for domestic adoption and international adoption. I believe that in the past the same people have handled both, and I’m not sure what splitting them up, creating separate departments so the same people aren’t handling both, would accomplish. It seems to me it would just create more room for confusion (but no one has asked my opinion, go figure). Also, the sources I’m hearing this from are more anecdotal or even “talked to someone who knows someone who…” type rumors. So it’s not a sure thing, just something to keep an eye on, basically.

I wish I could muster up a little enthusiasm and belief that they will actually get to us this time, but I just can’t. Been burned WAY too many times to fall for it this time either. I don’t think referrals will come out again until January. I don’t have any thing that I’m basing that on and I would certainly LOVE to be proven wrong, but it’s just a gut feelings and most of the time my gut is a better source than the rumors that mill around and get my hopes up. So no offense to anyone, but I just don’t see it happening. (Gosh, I hope I get to eat those words!). If they DO referrals then I’m so afraid it will be only ONE day (the 29th) and then we’ll all be disappointed again. I had so hoped to at least see my baby’s face before this Christmas, but alas, it’s just not going to happen. I had my tear-fest in the Hallmark store on Friday when I saw all the Baby’s First Christmas ornaments. Just stood there and bawled! Most of the time I’ve become just numb to it all and don’t let myself think about it, but at the wierdest times it sneaks up on me and I’m a bawling, heartbroken fool!
Hang in there everyone and maybe there will be some sort of Christmas miracle for us all.

The following notes and quotes by my agencies coordinator/guide in China were in the newsletter my agency just sent to me:

“The waiting time is difficult to tell. CCAA said that the matiching will not go very fast since they are short of children for the adoptions. Rumors here said the CCAA would speed up from next month. We will see. Sept. 2009″

“Before 2005, more abandoned chldren were bought by the orphanage directors all over China. From 2005 this ugly process was exposed. So not many orphanage directors dare to find children in this way for the adoptions. Real abandoned children are less in number now, not like the 60 or more each cit in each month. Oct. 2009″

“About the China domestic adoptions, the Chinese government encourages people within China to adopt children, and even if you have a child you can adopt more children if you are capable. The one child policy will not affect the adoption. But almost no Chinese people adopt from orphanages. Oct. 2009″

I am glad that CCAA is most likely dividing the domestic and international programs. This will allow the workers to be dedicated to their program, which I’m sure involves much different paperwork than the other. I think this will be more efficient.

I’m in for the long haul with an LID of 4/15/2007!

To Babyontheway, your comments are very interesting. Are you going to keep renewing under the grandfathered I600 or let it expire and go later with Hague 800? We have to decide in 1 month what to do.
