No Rumors
I’ve been around the world this morning. Virtually, that is.
I see a whole lot of speculation, but I don’t see any rumors.
With a new director in place there are a lot of unknowns, but my guess is that this means we aren’t going to see referrals before Christmas. I would love to be wrong, but if they are going to mail them by Monday or Tuesday, we would ordinarily be hearing some rumors by now.
I’m not going to try to guess when we will see them beyond that. My latest When post gives a really big window, and at this point I don’t think we know anything beyond that. The CCAA has done two referrals in December the last couple of years. But that does not mean they will do it this year. As usual, we just have to wait and see what happens.

My guess is that they will mail them just before they take their New Year holiday from 1 to 3 January.
Fingers crossed.

Okay, I need a an honest answer……
Our LID is 4/4, and I’m trying not to get too excited that we could be next! I know RQ projections say that it “could” get up to 4/5. With what you guys know and your gut feeling….. do you think I could be next?
Good days and bad….. this one could use some encouraging thoughts! XO
Thanks, “ChinaAdopt” friends!!! :)

To fully appreciate the numbers we need to know the % of NSN vs SN placements. Perhaps the new CCAA direct will come forth with some real numbers – we will not like the answer(s) but it would be nice to know.

Our agencies DO know these numbers – they are the ones putting in the dossiers for both SN and NSN!
My agency says they used to do about 5% SN adoptions, which slowly rose to about 20% by 2005. Now they say 50% at least are SN, looking more like 60% and higher in the future.
The picture is plain as the noses on our faces. Denying that reality in hopes that CCAA will give us some “real numbers” is kinda foolish, IMO. Sorta like forever believing there’s going to be a speed up around the next corner. CCAA is not likely to give us direct numbers. And even if they did, it would not change anything. The line would still be just as long, as just as painfully slow.

to sherri in vermont
My hope is that they come clean with the backlog and the ratio – I suspect that many agencies know these numbers and each agency is different – but it is not public knowlege – I believe the agencies are as culpable in this mess as the CCAA if not more so.
If there are 12,000 NSN in line and the reality is that there will not be more than 3000 World Wide NSN a year – that makes a whole lot more sense than crossing fingers hoping for 4 log in days per month verse two LID per month.

Sherry – some agencies area t 25% SN, some at 40% SN, and some at 65% SN. We do not know the total number. It would be nice if the CCAA gave us a breakdown. I can make an educated guesstimate, but hard numbers would be good.
Chinadad – I believe there are more than 12,000 still in line.

Yes, and not all of the 3000 are NSN.
