April 3rd?

An agency has posted that the CCAA’s internal box has changed to show matches through April 3rd.

Usually we get a lot of agencies reporting this when it happens… but with today being Christmas Eve? We may not see agencies confirming it until Monday.

I’ve been peaking in occasionally this morning, but our out of town family will begin arriving soon and then I won’t be able to check in as often.

With only one agency saying it, it’s hard to give it an R rating. It is definitely not an R4 or R5 until we get more agencies saying it, though.

If the cut off is the 3rd, that would be very disappointing (unless you happen to be included, of course). Here are the projections. I really don’t want to have to make a smaller column.

if this is true then this is one of – if not the – smallest batch ever. i can only think of one other batch that was as small.

the message they seem to be sending is that it doesn’t matter how many families are logged in – we will be doing three days per month.

  2. huntergirl Says:

OMG OMG OMG………if this is true….we are FINALLY going to see our little girl’s face! We are LID 4-3-06!!!!!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  3. Norahs_dad Says:

Congratulations to all who got referrals!!!!!!

  4. Noendinsight Says:

    congrats 4/1, 4/2 and 4/3 families!

okay, now i can spend all day crying christmas. there are VERY few families logged in 4/1 and 4/2 because it’s a weekend, so this is basically one day. and keeping with the three day batches even though march is done. $*#$*$#&%

  5. woodsie Says:

Congrats to my fellow April Gals!!

boo on such a small batch so sad… 04/05/06.. next?

  6. auntiem Says:

I don’t know how I am going to keep my feet on the ground until that phone call comes.

I am sad that this batch might actually be this small but I can’t help but be excited that we will be seeign our daughter’s face for the first time in a few days.

    4/3/06!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Noendinsight Says:

just realized if the rumors are true as some agencies have reported – and it takes them a year to do april 2006, then they will do the same number of referrals in a year that they did in 2-3 WEEKS in 2005.

  8. chickensoupforchina Says:

I hope this isn’t true. If that’s the case, it’s obvious to me that this is all very deliberate and calculated. If the numbers drop right after March is over, that speaks volumes.

  9. Mom2Isabel Says:

    huntergirl and auntiem-
Soooo very excited for you. What an incredible present to receive on Christmas Eve.

Can’t wait to see those faces!

  10. Noendinsight Says:

chickensoupforchina – i’m afraid you are right. the message we have received in the new directors first few months are a skipped month and then the smallest batch of referrals we’ve seen.

  11. ljp Says:

Could this batch be a 2nd December batch? – Hasn’t the CCAA matched a small group in a second referral set in past Decembers?

  12. Noendinsight Says:

ljp – the last batch arrived 12/2. this batch will likely arrive next week – maybe the 28th or 29th – so only a few days early.

while there was a second december batch last year, it really counted as the jan batch since the next batch wasn’t until the end of jan and the batch after that the end of feb.

  13. Noendinsight Says:

okay, i’m sorry – i know i’ve posted a million times. this will be my last time here – i know the 4/1-4/3 familie are really excited.

but, i’m really upset. i just looked and from the nov 08 poll this is 27 RQ families and the batch at this time last year was 86 families!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so LESS than a third.

okay, sorry. thank you for letting me vet. happy holiday’s everyone and looking forward to seeing the 4/1, 4/2 and 4/3 baby faces.

  14. Vikki Says:

Congratulations to all the families who will be receiving pictures of their little angels very soon!!! God bless all of them!

Now, I’m holding on to the fact that only one agency reported the cut off. Here’s hoping that they’re wrong and more days were included!!!! I can hope, can’t I?? :)

Noendinsight – Please don’t spend all day tomorrow crying! :( Your day will come! When is your LID?

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy 2010 for all of us!

God willing, we are in this group, if not, here’s to January!!

  15. mommychinaadopt Says:

Why is everyone so upset????? This is the second batch sent out in December so isn’t that GOOD news??????? Congrats to the families who will soon see their babies’ faces! We are hoping to be NEXT!!!!! (04/05/06)

  16. chickensoupforchina Says:

    mommychinaadopt,
When you have a late 06 Lid, it’s not good news when the batches keep shrinking especially with March being over. We could still be years away from referral even though we’re only logged a few months before those getting referrals now.

I’m happy for you, though. I’m sure you will be next.

  17. aryohana Says:

NOENDINSIGHT: Please don’t let this be your last comment. I’m new to RQ only a few months, & hooked on it! But everytime I log on, you bring up good points of interest. It totally helps me. Between you & RQ, that is what keeps me going. Informative information. Please vent all you want! We understand.

And to RQ, I don’t know how you do it! You are terrific. Thank you for all you do!

I am very happy for all of the families that are getting refferals. Merry Christmas all & a safe 2010!!!!

  18. nicurn Says:

Congratulations to those who will be receiving their referrals. What a great Christmas present.

  19. Noendinsight Says:

    aryohana – sorry – i didn’t mean ever ;-) i meant on this topic.

THANKS! you made my horrible day a bit better.

  20. YR Says:

Congrats to those receiving referrals. Great Xmas gift! As for the cut off rumour, does not surprise me one bit. :(

  21. daughter4us Says:

We are SOOOO excited as we are a 4/3/06 LID, but know how everyone behind us is feeling. This has been a long time coming (4+ years) and the wait almost unbearable at times.

Is is possible they have matched through 4/3/06 and are not done matching (i.e., they are continuing to match yet)?

  22. kcbock Says:

I think this is just more confirmation that China is making a statement that they are moving towards a SN program and away from the NSN program. I looked back a few posts ago and saw table on the percentages of NSN and SN from back in 2005 to the present. I was shocked. They have moved from 10% SN in 05 to 60% SN currently. I hate to think that the NSN program may be gone, but the trend is there and sadly, new batches like this with only a handful of referrals only confirms the obvious– China more than likely will be or become a SN only program.

So that brings up a question about what happens to the families who are 07 or 08 referrals– heck or even late 06 referrals. What will happen to their files if they close the NSN program? Will they get to move to the SN program or what may happen? Does anyone know?

  23. LID 09/12/06 for Mia Jade Says:

I’m in late 06 and I don’t like seeing a small batch either but I’m super happy, if it’s all true, to see another batch in December. I’m not ready to jump on the doom and gloom train just yet.

  24. Lisa Says:

We are an April 3rd ‘06 LID and while I am so very sorry that they didn’t get farther, I cannot begin to tell you how over joyed I am that we might be seeing our baby’s face so very soon. It just makes me speechless! It is truly almost too good to believe!!!!!!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very safe 2010!

  25. franceskasmom Says:

kcbock I dont really understand either as to why they keep accepting dossiers if the ultimate plan is to only be SN????? And why I am here I am going to say what all of us want to say but are afraid to……I am so tired of being jacked around with!!!! This is just ridiculous, this is our 5th Christmas without our daughter, and it just seems that “they” just dont care about us at all, it is almost like they know they can do just exactly what they want to do to us, because they know we are going to wait!!! It is just mind boggling to me that people just 2 or 3 months behind us could be expected to wait 6, 7, or 8 years for their daughters if they are only going to be doing 1 month a year!!! I just cannot wrap my brain around the fact that it would be okay to them for us to just wait that long!!!

RQ if you dont post this I totally understand, I just needed to get if off my chest.

Now with all of that being said, I am SOOOOOO excited for all of the families that will be seeing the beautiful faces of their angels really really soon!!! God bless all of you.

As frustrating as 3 days is, it’s not even a RQ rating yet. I’ve still got my body bits crossed.

I find it interesting that people keep saying they have been waiting for their daughter for X years. There has been an increase in boy referrals & people really should be getting their heads aroung that possibility. Times have changed in IAland & everyone needs to expect the unexpected.

Here’s hoping we do see referrals next week. It’s been too quiet for too long.

    Happies & merries everyone!

  28. ladeeesquire Says:

To the small number of families who will be getting a referral this month, a HUGE congratulations!!! You made it, its happening!!!

To everyone else still waiting, I am so, so sorry. What a kick in the gut this must be. Tough to take on any day and super tough on Christmas Eve. My heart goes out to all who are still waiting. I can only imagine how upsetting this must be for everyone who still had a glimmer of hope that once the march referrals were done things would improve a little. This just sucks.

    Hugs to all.
    susan

  29. momto4hopefully Says:

The reason this would be upsetting news is because this may be the smallest batch EVER! I do not consider it a second Dec. batch. It will be about 30-32 days after the last batch. I suspect that there will be only one more batch before CNY. The 1st and 2nd were weekend days, almost no one logged in. This is essentially a one day batch. To call this a 3 day batch is misleading and even if it were a true 3 day batch, that would indiacte it will take a year to complete April of 2006. With a May 2006 LID I am soooooo tired of this kind of news. I thought they would for sure include the 4th this time around. With the new numbers and now this I don’t know what other evidendce we need.

  30. Emmalinelola Says:

I am truly sorry for those still waiting that this seems to be such a small batch………try not to loose hope……

…..but as a 4/3/06 mama, I am in shock, overjoyed, and stunned that my wait could very well be over next week! can’t wait to see my Lily’s face!

santa came early to our house this year!

  31. babydreamer Says:

This is not a 2nd December batch. The “1st” December batch was actually November. Remember they skipped November.

  32. shemajo40 Says:

    First off Merry Christmas!!

Now, if this is true am just going to scream so loud that Kristy in Texas will hear me…
I’m sick of the wait just like everyone else and being we’re LID 08-08-06 it just may never happen for us!! It really does suck knowing today is our 4th Christmas without our Emma….just how many more are going to pass us?

So that being said i’m really happy for the next group of families who will be seeing the faces of their beautiful children for the first time…CONGRATS!!!

  33. prayter Says:

    RQ,
If another referral batch comes in January, could you add the two December batches together? Or do you feel that would be skewing things too much?
I am hoping CCAA assigned a group (as has been mentioned before) to just do International adoptions and they will just keep cranking out batches, and update the box accordingly. Would love to see 2-3 batches per month, even if the numbers are small.

  34. bagatelli Says:

    to franceskasmom

My wife and I feel your pain, however, you actually didn’t say anything that I was afraid to say. In fact I don’t feel as if they’re standing over a table and trying to JACK us around… so you didn’t quite speak for us. Just like you, we’re very disappointed with the outcome.

We too are going through another Christmas without our little girl and it looks as if the cut-off is a day before our login 04/06. But, our agency warned us that IA is very unpredictable and asked if we were still interested in pursuing this type of adoption.

We have choices here and we can choose to respect another country’s situation and another diverse culture. This culture thinks differently than we do, and they’re not wrong just because they do things differently. We certainly haven’t cornered the market on how to do things right. I don’t believe they are jacking us around at all, otherwise, we wouldn’t still be in line for a child. This whole thing would be shut down. We can choose to be thankful that we are still waiting and not shut out of it or we can choose to boil over circumstances that are not in our control.

Money doesn’t buy us entitlement to a life, I personally believe that the CCAA are very concerned in finding parents for these beautiful little people and at the same time trying to deal with cultural mores and constantly changing political and economical situations.

If these children are finding loving parents all over the world and within their own country… isn’t that enough to cheer about. A word of caution that we don’t begin to think that something underhanded is going on. Again, I’m very disappointed and it pains me every time I have to wait (trust me I’m a papa who dreams daily and prays daily for whoever God eventually allows us to raise)

Hold onto your dreams and stay focused on the day you will hold your little child in your arms for the first time. Don’t allow this wait to change those dreams and eventually rob your joy on the day that your child comes. Personally, I believe our choices, either for what can be positive or what could lead to negativity, could change who we become later on.

And in this situation that later on involves a beautiful little girl.

“I really don’t want to have to make a smaller column.”

I think you need smaller columns. It’s just not realistic to think that we’re going to stick with the existing columns. The only reasons you were able to check those boxes the last couple of times is that the CCAA took six or so weeks to do what they used to do in about four weeks.

The static columns are useful because they are static. They allow us to see changes over time. But the static columns are also less helpful for longer term projections because they are static. As you recognized in your most recent long-term projection post, the CCAA is making fewer and fewer NSN referrals.

May I suggest that you add two new columns? One is “Fall/Winter 2009 Slow.” The other is a “Downward Path” slow. The Fall/Winter one could be a static model adjusted for the amount of referrals actually done in the recent calender months (referrals six weeks apart would be statistically treated as a month and a half’s referrals). The Downward Path column would follow your worst case long-term projection for the decrease in referrals. Unfortunately, your worst case long term scenario looks like a middle-of-the-road scenario to me.

All that said, thanks for doing all the hard work that allows the rest of us to nit pick.

  40. 2chinagals Says:

bagatelli..hate to burst your bubble but they can and DO pick who they want when they want !.. it happened to our group , A couple went two and a half years ago and we are lid 05/06 ! It was b/c who the were and what they did for a living! No switching to SN … I also spoke to our minister of child services and they said they do see this happen.. Anywhooo ..we are still in it and really…? what can ya say ,if they can pick ya first ,they can pick ya last or not at all so we sit and wait with our mouths shut not to stir the pot…

  41. gotochina Says:

Waiting4baby32 and Waiting4katerina, I’m really sorry for you both that this seems to be the smallest batch in a long time. I’ll cross all my fingers for a new batch within short time.
