Merry Christmas
I’ll just post a quick note this morning to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!!!
We were awakened at 5:40 this morning by two very excited girls, and I just got a break to check things here. It’s been a wonderful morning, with the rest of Christmas yet to come.
To those still waiting, here’s my best advice for the day. You only get so many Christmases in your lifetime. I was completely miserable for two of mine, and fairly miserable for another two. Both while waiting, of course. I can never get those Christmases back, and now I wish I’d been able to put my grief aside for a few days so I could have enjoyed things a bit more on those years. The hardest was the final Christmas before we got TT, while I had to fake being happy so GG would have a good Christmas. Now? I want to kick myself for letting my grief take over my happiness. Sure, TT was malnourished and probably very hungry on that day. But my being worried and upset and sad didn’t help her any. So, my best advice is to find a container somewhere that you can visualize putting your grief and worry into. You can come back and get it again in a few days, or maybe even tonight. Just try to set it aside for a little while so you can enjoy your day. (I know, easier said that done.. and I didn’t manage it, so I’m one to talk, right? Still, it’s my best advice, if you can pull it off.)
So, once again – Merry Christmas everyone! (And now I’m off to help with the Erector Set again – my fingers are raw on the ends already, but it’s a good feeling.)

RQ: Merry Christmas to you & your family! Thank you for taking the time out of your holiday (busy day) to lift our spirits. I will do what you said, my heart will be in 2 places today. At home with my family, & my heart is big enough to extend to my waiting daughter in China. She knows that she is loved, & that we are thinking of her.
Have a Merry Christmas & a SAFE 2010!

RQ, Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for all you do for us. I don’t know how I could survive this wait without my RQ family. And Merry Christmas to all the families out there!

Merry Christmas RQ and everyone else!!! RQ you have really helped me through the last 2+ years of our wait (LID 9/12/2007). Thankfully, we found a baby boy on the SN list with very minor needs (He is postoperative CL/CP) and we will be going to China next month. This is our last year of waiting! We also have a bio daughter that is 12 so that helps. Even though we are so close we know our little man is in good hands in his China Care Foster Program and we are getting excited about going to get him!!! I hope everyone can have a Merry Christmas no matter where they are in the wait.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone that celebrates has a good day. I agree with RQ, enjoy your holidays with your loved ones, one day we will have our little ones with us to celebrate. It may be days, months or many years away but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the time you have now with your family and/or other children. I looked at my husband this morning and told him this was truly the best Christmas for us so far! The next most wonderful one will be when we have our daughter home for Christmas and the holiday season. We will have been waiting for a year since log in on Feb. 13. And almost 2 years since we got our application approved to start the process. We know it will be many years until we see her face, but we are truly blessed to have the children we have at this point. Look at your family today and look towards the future of what is to come. It will be worth it when that time does come to each of us. The wait still seems so far away for us, but I know when that day comes I won’t even remember the heartache each year brought during the wait. Once our child is in our arms we know our family will be completely complete at that time. Hope all of you have a wonderful 2010.
