When: Waiting Child Shared List

I see reports that a list was released last night, and hopefully we’ll begin seeing people announcing soon that they’ve found their child, or that their agency has matched them with a child, or… something.

Looking at the numbers: The shortest time frame is 23 days, the longest is 49 (the time just waited). The average is 35, the median is 35, and we see 34 and 41 two times.

This means the soonest we would expect to see the next list (or series of lists) would be Thursday, February 11, the latest we would expect to see them would be Tuesday, March 9. The most likely day (based on the averages) for matches to be announced from the next shared list would be Tuesday, February 23.

CNY is coming up and I have no idea of the history of how the list responds around CNY. It might not make sense to release a list just before they leave, for example, because I think there is a flurry of activity when a list is released, so they may be planning to do one shortly after they return instead of just before they leave. If someone knows how it happened last year, feel free to share.

Congrats to all who found their child on this list, or who were matched to a child on this list by their agency.

RQ-Thank you for keeping track of this for us waiting and hoping for a SN referral… I know it adds one more thing for you to track!

we found our little girl off the shared list and she is a wonderful little 3 year old,she had a repaired vsd in china and the american heart doctor we took her to said they did a great job in repairing her heart.we were 9-16-06 lid and did not want to wait anymore.the sn needs program worked for us and is well worth looking into if you are waiting forever. why are there political ads on the website today??

    PETERK-
Congratulations!!! Three is such a wonderful age. Hoping yu are among many who will (at last) see the face of their long-awaited child.

BTW, RQ has no control over the ads. She has posted about it previously. They are geared to specifics events geographically. I remember quite a stir this past year about a proposition in CA. On the east coast, we saw no ads. Although, I am sure those in Massachusetts are seeing quite a few today!

    Congrats again on yur daughter!

M2I is correct about the ads.

I can filter out a limited number of ads. But, it takes 24 hours for the filter to start working once I give it a site to filter out. And on days like today that’s kind of pointless, since they’ll be gone by tomorrow anyway.

I’m not seeing any political ads at all, so I’m not sure which side is advertising. Just please understand that whichever side it is, I didn’t get to choose, and the chances are just as good that it goes against my druthers than that it goes with them. 50/50, any way you look at it.

Just wanted to share that we found our daughter on December 2, 2009. She is about 4 months younger than our other dd from China and has a heart defect. We are thrilled and hope to travel late this summer to meet her. We didn’t know it but she is even from the same province so the provincial capital (?right term) is the same! Hoping that there are many who are matched or who find their precious sons and daughters soon! Congrats PeterK!

I have a question about how the SN lists are released. We are new to this part of the adoption world. Our first China adoption was finalized in 2002. It was NSN. We have a LID of 11/16/2006 this time around. I see that a shared agency list has just come out. Do agencies also get lists of their own? Do these come at the same time as the shard agency list? Just trying to figure out how this part of the world works. Thanks!
