The CCAA has reviewed through December 31, 2008.
I’ve also updated the histories page.
Congrats to those families who can now breathe just a little bit easier.

Wow…that was a big group announced all at once. Thanks for posting this news!

So is this good progress? Compared to the past? If so, think this could be a sign of improvements on the horizon?

First I have to say congrats to all who’ve made it through review, and in no way do I mean this to sound disheartening. But, can I ask, why do they continue to create the backlog of review with no intention of speeding up the matching process? Seriously, what is the point? I can’t find any logic behind it–I’m not meaning it to sound nasty, I’m seriously confused.

I don’t think they have “no intention” of speeding things up. I think they are doing what they can given the issues involved.

Hmmm. I’m guessing this is pretty indicative of how few dossiers there are to BE reviewed after April ’07.
March 10th, 2010 at 1:55 am
Crap. Should have read April ’08.
Ugh – posting too late, should proofread first.

Perhaps the fact that they’re reviewing so far ahead, means that there are not as many to review as the time goes by….and if that’s the case, then those who are now doing reviews might soon also be helping with matching for future months. Let’s hope so anyway. It’s a long shot but a girl’s gotta dream.

I’m with curlylockz. The LID-list of my agency indicates that there are hardly any dossier logged in after May 08. So this was no big batch, there just isn’t any more. And when that time comes, I think half of 2008 is going to be referred and travel together.
But until then, I too, think that the CCAA is doing whatever they can to get the line gone. And I’ll be waiting (LID May 08)!

I think this is a good sign… atleast they are reviewing ,better than “sorry done!”..what a lot of days to review .I know there are not as many families per month but still they could have only done a months worth .So I think this is positive ,maybe it is a hint …of course they know it will get hopes up …wow

Well, since the new rules went into effect May 1, 2008, there ARE less dossiers, and so that’s when a speed-up would be expected. (When they get to the point of referring May ’08 dossiers.) And, guessing by the amount of files they reviewed so quickly, quite a speed-up it will be!!! :) (You know, years from now when they get to the May 2008 dossiers.)

Hello! Our agency tells us that april-09 also is out of rewiew-room!!
March 10th, 2010 at 9:08 am
The new rules went into effect May 1, 2007 not 2008
March 10th, 2010 at 9:28 am
I am LID 1.22.09 and I know it will still be forever before I am matched, but just to know that the next time the review box changes, mine will be included is a pretty big deal. Congrats to all who received a little encouragement from this.
March 10th, 2010 at 9:30 am
Correct me if I am wrong, but, I think the new rules went into effect in May of 2007 NOT 2008. This would mean that the eventual “speed up” should happen sooner.

Seems to me this new director is improving things all around. For the first time in a LONG time, the process and the program appears to have some direction instead of spinning further out of control.
March 10th, 2010 at 11:27 am
Completely agree with Guangximom. I really like this new director so far! He is making a lot of positive changes in a short amount of time!

I am also really on board with the new Director. He really seems to have the best interest of the children in his agenda.

various Spanish agencies say The CCAA has reviewed through April 30, 2009
March 10th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
Sorry I caused that confusion- YES, the new rules went into effect May 2007. I was totally mixed up!! I should get more sleep! :)

RQ-
Our large US agency is also stating the box has changed and through April 2009 is out of review.
March 10th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
our large once-china-only-but-not-anymore agency has also been very upbeat about this new director and his strong belief that the children in the orphanages need FOREVER FAMILIES, not foster families, and not childhoods spent in orphanages. he spoke to oprhanage directors from all over the country in january, telling them that they will be judged not on how many kids are in their institutions, but on now many find permanent homes.
i think that is fantastic!!!
March 10th, 2010 at 3:53 pm
Yep, our agency also says the box has been changed to end of April 2009. WOOHOO! This is great news. Now, lets see the match dept. speed up and we will all be a lot happier!
March 10th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
I think all of this is very promising news. Yes I am sure there are less dossiers to review but it seems as if there are changes happening with the new director. I hope this means things will pick up for those families who have waited 4+ years when they expected to wait 12-18 months. For those of us starting out more recently, at least we are going into this fully uderstanding the situation so I hope this means things will pick up and you guys will get your babies sooner!!!

This is interesting news for sure. I have a friend who sent their dossier in late December 2008 and China didn’t give them a LID. They were told that they were not giving out LIDs for awhile.
It sounds like people in 2009 do have LIDs though?
March 10th, 2010 at 9:49 pm
Hedge, we were logged in Feb. of 2009 and definitely got a LID. No doubt we would do without one. Your friend should definitely contact her agency and find out what is going on with that. That is extremely important in this process. We pay enough to have that dossier sent over, the least they can do is provide your friend with a LID.
