Review Room – Box Change
I’m told that the CCAA Box has changed to show that files have been reviewed through November 30, 2009.

Thats great to see but would rather it say that they have matched to November 20, 2009. We were first told 30-33 months of a wait and now we are in month 33 of our wait and still believe in a long wait ahead. Congrats to those who are out of review.

littleperson, I feel your pain.
I think a lot of people feel mislead, or at the least, disappointed. But it’s hard to blame the agencies. It’s also hard to blame China. We were DTC 4/17/07, and at the time, the wait was 17 months. We were told by our agency to expect it to go to 22-24 months. That sounded reasonable at the time…and this is our second adoption from China, so it’s not as if we just fell off the turnip truck. I expected it to go beyond 24 months, but only to around 30 months wait…Now here we are (let me count….) almost 41 months into the wait, and NOW I think I can realistically count on it being around 24 months from HERE. UGH! Oh well… it is what it is. And as my husband says, if you can’t change it, why worry about it?

Congrats to those with a November 2009 LID. I remember how excited it felt to pass that “hurdle”.
We hit four years later this month…

Yep, I am also hitting the 4 year mark this month. I’ve finally made my peace with it, and it’s rare that I have those REALLY bad days anymore. I’m finally at a “whatever will be, will be” place.

RQ, do you think that maybe when they finsih up with all the files that are waiting to be reviewed, and the few that will flow in each week, that maybe they will do more placements of children with families? I mean to catch up to the back log.

I just passed the four year mark. 8-8-06. Thinking another 12 months for sure. I still go back and forth of it really happening. Just wish I felt more positive. Today is one of those days. Feeling old…turning 49 in another two weeks. But I’ve come this far?

littleperson647 – the problem isn’t manpower at the CCAA, the problem is that only so many babies are being allowed to be made paper ready. So, no, I don’t think they will be processing more babies once they get the review room caught up.
