Waiting for our little man!

He's my best friend and I miss him so much. I miss everything about him, even his snoring, biting of nails, and random diatribes on issues I wouldn't find interesting in this lifetime.

yeah, I get it I didn't know how much I liked my husband until he was gone; how much he settles me in my soul just being here. Hang in there. It doesn't replace his presence in the house, but do you get to talk on the phone or skype?

Not too much. No Skype or anything visual. We did just have some news I had to get to him about my daughter's health and they set up a VTC in a classified portion of the building, which was wonderful. That was I guess two weeks ago. I just love him so much. Thanks for the hugs, ladies. I really appreciate it. People say the holidays are the hardest times to be without your Soldier, but I think it's the 'in betweens'. xoxo

I feel your pain!! I will pick my husband up at the airport next week for "leave" and then send him back to the litter box for another 6 months...It sucks!! I did have a moment of joy yesterday as I brought my trash cans in, it dawned on me that I won't be doing that next week, HE can!!

i am so sorry. I know how difficult it can be. My DH was deployed right after 9/11 and there were no phone calls and very few emails due to communications black-outs. Then he was sent into Afghanistan and Pakistan with the Marines, and one of his friends back in Norfolk thought it would be funny if they called and asked if I had heard from him since they had not. Really not funny.
I wish that there was something that I could say or do to make you feel better. Nothing is better than a big hug or even to see their face.
In the meantime a big hug from this former Navy spouse.

DC Mom,
I know -- when Doug deployed right after 9/11, we didn't hear from him for 40 days. Then a year later he went to Iraq and we didn't hear from him for 95 days. We'd stay glued to the tv and my heart would stop if we heard of a medical platoon being attacked.
And...btw, I'm sad too that we aren't coming to DC. :(

You all have brought tears to my eyes. I wish I had more to offer, but you are in my thoughts, and I am so grateful for the sacrifices you and your families have made for our country!
