Gee, Thanks Mom

My mother informed me this weekend that I have a bunch of gray hairs that have sprouted since we arrived home with TwinkleToes.

Looks like I need to make some decisions. Once upon a time I said I was going to age gracefully and not fight it. Right now I’m more inclined to fight it.

It wouldn’t be so bad if my mom hadn’t shown such joy in pointing it out to me.

Not fun! :o) I found my first gray hair at 25 and by my early 30’s they had won the battle. Voila….la box!

It did make my homestudy fun though when asked what colour my hair was. My response was ‘102A.’

My SW laughed and said, ‘What colour?’

‘Oh, the box says Bamboo!’ :o)

More smiles and we settled with dark blonde!

Go for the box friend. Nothing like a good box of hair dye (or even better having it done professionally if you have the pennies) as a great pick-me-up!

Kids…they’ll do it to us every time….and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Too funny RQ….only a mom could tell their DD about the grays in their hair…I love it. So far I am safe from the gray, but there are days when I wonder if being the mom of a teenaged DD will add some…and when this happens…well I will look for a box colour too…Again thanks for this site…Glitter girl and Twinkletoes sound like they are having a blast….

    RQ,

I started getting my first few gray hairs at the age of 16. By the time I was 18, highlights would no longer cover it enough. I’ve been dying my hair ever since. I’m now the ripe, old age of 29 and over 50% gray, but no one would ever know thanks to the wonderful invention of dye:) I’m pro dye-job all the way!

I’m in the same shoes, RQ. For awhile during my vain late 20s, I highlighted my hair which also blended in the grays. Then I got married, frugal, too impatient to sit at the salon for hours, and way less vain– which are all OK with me, but it happened at about the same time the grays started becoming more plentiful. I decided to let it grow for a while, thinking I wasn’t vain enough to care, but alas, that did not last. Back to the boring salon I went, thinking it would look better that way. Well, it didn’t look that great, so I’ve decided to do the box next time and save some time and money (my husband likes to help me with it so it ends up being kind of fun– yes, we’re losers :) Another way to justify coloring was that the CCAA thinks I’m still 30, so I better look the part :)
