This Week

This week has been a tough week. Homework is becoming more involved, GG’s extracurricular activity is kicking into high gear, and there are only so many hours in the day. By the time I get home from work there is really only enough time to eat and do a little bit of homework and then begin bedtime rituals.

It’s been a good week, but I feel like I’m hung over and yet I haven’t had anything to drink in a long time. Months, I think. Who has time for a relaxing drink during the midst of all of this going on? Maybe I should find the time for that. I think I’ll make sure we have margarita stuff and invite RK to a chip-dip-margarita evening with me after the kiddos are asleep. Maybe even rent a movie.

Today we have some shopping to do and then we go to a birthday party (one of GG’s friends). Siblings aren’t always invited to these things, thank goodness siblings are invited to this one so the family doesn’t have to split up this weekend. We really need some fun together time, I think.

Life with two this summer was interesting, but life with two when one is in school is just downright manic. I can’t imagine how things will be when they are both old enough to go to school. Homework for two? That thought is pretty scary to me right now.

Not that I’m complaining. I love my girls, I love keeping up with them, I love waking them up in the mornings, I love our bedtime rituals.

But I’m also very tired. Happy. But tired.

We brought home our dd about 2-3 months after you arrived home and I love reading GG and TT because it reflects so much of our life (we also have a child in school as well). I have nothing more to say than we are in the same boat! We wouldn’t change a thing in our lives and love our children tremendously! But, there are times when I’m running ragged, and overwhelmed, and tired, and lacking “me” time (or “us” time,) and it’s just so…so…well, you know. I’m here with ya, RQ. We love you!

Hey RQ! Make good on that margarita consideration with you and RK after the little ones are in bed! It may do wonders for you! Reading your post is already making me think of some kind of “ritual” for DH and me after we have Kiera home. No matter how much you love your children, you need some “me” or “me and DH” time. Hope the rest of your weekend is great!

My children are grown and we are awaiting our first grandchild. As I look back now I am not sure how we kept up the pace but somehow we did, and it was worth every minute. Years from now when you look back the memories are the best.
