A letter to your daughter's principal is a wonderful way to support her teacher.

Principals need to hear when one of their staff is doing a great job.....so many times all they hear are complaints.

We teachers, too, need pats on the back every so often....and it is extra nice when our supervisors know that we are getting them. :-D

I'm a former teacher and I have to agree! A card is wonderful and the gift card is even better. I don't know any teacher that doesn't dip into their own personal money to do his/her job. It's just the nature of the business.

Also, if GG has an "other" teacher that did a great job (like a PE, music, art teacher)...they'd appreciate a note too. They're the ones that really get left out of the mix most of the time. Like, when it's send a flower to your teacher week, those extra/other/special area teachers typically don't get anything. It's more work to write multiple notes, but it really means a lot. Just my two cents...

I'm not a teacher, but I do agree that there is nothing better for a child than a great teacher. I'm glad that your daughter had the experience of one! (I hope my future child does one day, too.)

I think that's a great idea. I'm a teacher and the best possible gift is when parents take the time to write a heartfelt note of thanks. I save them and read them again when I've had a tough day. I have to say that the gift card is a generous, wonderful gift as well! Much better than a mug-- :)
