GlitterGirl has used a computer since she was very small. We started with the lapware games and moved up from there.
And now GlitterGirl loves to sit TwinkleToes on her lap and go to the Sesame Street site and let TT play with Elmo. They are so cute, sitting together at GG’s desk. And, as [...]

I don’t remember GlitterGirl asking “why?” this early. I was thinking GG was three when we hit that particular stage.
But, TwinkleToes is there.
Yesterday I thought maybe it was a fluke. But then this morning I said “let’s put your shoes on” and I got “why?”. I said “Because we are about to leave, and it’s [...]

As I listen to GlitterGirl play with her Barbie House I learn a lot about how GlitterGirl views us. (Side note: Yesterday there was an AA mom, a blonde surfer dude dad, Dora played the part of the daughter, and a My Little Pony was the dog - you’ll note there was no sister.)
For instance, [...]

Someone asked about time-ins on the previous thread.
In a time-out the child goes to sit by their self and either gets their self under control, or thinks about what they’ve done, or bides their time until they are free again, or whatever. The point is, they are “out” instead of “in”, they are off to [...]

A couple of weeks ago I bought two adorable outfits for the girls to wear for the 4th.

I didn’t allow GlitterGirl anywhere near steps for probably a lot longer than was necessary. In my defense, she did a lot of stumbling over nothing because of her sensory stuff, and I was just terrified of her being even close to steps much less actually on the steps. Plus, her depth perception was [...]

Sadly, in many cases I discover that it’s the two year old who is in charge, not the parents.
Before I had kids I was told that I shouldn’t remark about how badly behaved a child was, that I wasn’t a parent and had no idea how hard it was to get a child to behave.
Well, [...]

When I was in High School I had a jacket with my name on it. While at an away game someone almost lured me outside of the game area because he knew my name. He almost convinced me that we knew each other, and at the last minute I realized that he knew my name [...]

If you have a kid then boo-boos are going to happen.
Toddler boo-boos can be fixed with a kiss. For the pre-school and kindergarten crowd a Band-aid can fix most anything. I know that sounds kind of silly, but trust me on this one. Band-aids fix bruises as well as hangnails and skinned knees.
When I was [...]
