Early Rumors
There is a rumor that matching has begun, but I haven’t been able to trace back to figure out where the rumor came from originally. So, an R1 on that one. Odds are that they are probably matching by now, though.
And then I see rumors of a cut off for anywhere from the 10th to the 13th. I’ll just lump them all into an R2 at this point. Keep in mind, some of them aren’t “this is the cut off”, but “this is my LID and my agency says I’m in”, which of course is not their agency saying what the cut off is.
As you can see from the poll numbers, the 12th is the bugaboo. However, the projections (shown below) had the 12th as the bad case, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the 12th could be in.
The important thing to remember right now is that these are early rumors, and nothing is above an R2.
On a more personal note, I’m not back to normal yet, but I’m starting to feel like I might live through this. I haven’t been that sick in a very long time.

Thanks Queenie for the update, with it being THAT time of year…MARCH MADNESS, thanks for keeping an eye on the BRACKETS…aka rumors. With an LID of 1/11 we likely won’t make this batch, but it sure is fun to DREAM…thanks for sorting this all out for us. My body is in slow motion and my mind is like a Mexican jumping bean going from one topic to the next. Come on referrals…give us something…even if we don’t make this cutoff at least we will know we are NEXT…

I’ve started having “that time of the month” for the last several months- emotions on edge, hopes up and down, checking RQ 50 times a day instead of the usual 20. I didn’t know guys could have a time of the month :)
Hoping for the 13th (at least).

Our agency emailed us two days ago that they recieved word from China that the matching had begun and they have been emailing us daily saying that they know we are anxious but they don’t have the cut off yet. I don’t think the 12th will make it this time but it sure gives us a definite for next month. Time to really get moving, reality is setting in.

It would be real nice to see referrals go the the 13th. Maybe I can bring some luck as Jan 13th is DH’s birthday. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

That would be so wonderful if the 13th was in. I’ve been guessing on a cut-off of the 10th, but I’d so love to be wrong here. Good luck to all the January waiting parents!

Question: When families report their agency has told them they are in the next referral batch how do they know? Does someone at the ccaa tell them “Mr. and Ms. Smith will be getting their referral this month”?

Since there are now rumors does anyone know anything about the TA’s? Don’t they come out before the referrals?

It’s funny you should say that, the trend seems to be in the last three months, when they know you are getting close we recieved a phone call asking if we had any questions with a guess at referral month. Last night I recieved an updated travel manual, so they may have there hands full but when it starts to be your crunch time they focus right in on your needs. I will say even with the long long I am very happy with what my agency does with things they are responsible for and control. Hats off good luck everybody I get my next update on the situation at 3:30 am

I could be wrong, but I believe they are told what dates will be included, not which families. Of course, I’m going back to a time when they were referring full months at a time. Things may have changed since then.

Do the TA’s usually come in before the referrals?
Since we are hearing rumors don’t they come out or have they already come in for the month of March?

The CCAA has said to our agency that they will match 6-8 liddays each month,more days will be matched after march ‘06.

So, if we take a 7-day average per month, that gives us 13 more months to get through March 06. That’s one more year of things being slow. As long as things speed up even a little, say 10-12 LID’s per month, we’ll still be better off than we are now, right? I’ve been calculating everything on 8-day batches.

Can you at least say if you are with a China only agency? My agency is not saying the same thing-they are saying spring 06 LID’s will have matches in 2008. I do not understand the discrepencies. Even if they would just do 10 days, it would really help! If this continues, there are China only agencies that will go out of business. Our agency is NOT seeing people interested in adopting from China anymore but b/c of China doing this, it is creating issues & longer waits for the other countrie. With all of the precious babies and children in the world, waiting for a home, this really bothers me. I am trying hard to keep a positive attitude, but there are days it is so hard. I really feel that China is going to receive some very negative press when the Olympics happens.
Good luck January LID’s-especially the European families-you all deserve your babies…..they are coming-hang in there! Soon you will forget all about this ridiculous wait…..
