We’re expecting ours (LID 1/23/06), but we live in the 50th state and we’re last to get anything. Supposedly DHL left LA this morning with our referrals and they were to have been delivered this afternoon, but not yet. In our three years of waiting, the last three hours have been the most excruciating!

RQ- Please remove me from the “Babies” post under expecting a referral in this batch. My agency made a huge mistake when they sent me my LID (which they now tell me is 2/10/06.) I’ve cried my eyes out and now I just have to accept that after hanging on to this one date of 1/25/06 for two and a half years, I have to wait a little bit longer.

That happened to us too–for 2-1/2 years we thought our LID was 1/6/06 because of a communication glitch. We found out in April that it was 1/23/06. I am just glad we found out BEFORE the batches came out; I knew it would have been even worse if the referral came and we expected one but didn’t get it. I am so sorry that happened to you. We felt bad enough as it was, and for you it must be ten times worse!
But hang in there because your referral WILL come. We were starting to feel like it would never happen for us, but now it is happening, and it will for you too.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I haven’t been able to look at this site for several days.
litmom, ours was also a “communication glitch” if you can call it that. In reality, it was a complete breakdown in communication when one person in our agency went from overseeing the China program to overseeing the entire adoption program. The ball got dropped by the person who took over. The responsible person apologized profusely and took full blame for the error – none of that makes me feel any better about it. I just have to believe it’s God’s plan.
