A low R rating
I believe the original rumor is that referrals to the end of March have been signed. It appears this comes from a European agency. However, this European agency usually posts this kind of thing on their website, and I’m not seeing it on their website.
For now, this is down in the R1 or R2 range. Not because it isn’t believable, but because I’m having such a hard time verifying it. I can’t tell if the one person said it and everyone is just assuming it is true based on what one person says… or if a whole lot of people heard this from their agency and that is why they all seem to be treating it as true.
I really hope we hear from some other agencies on this one.

Hello all! I’ve been checking this site for almost 2 years now! My LID is 4/4….. What are your feelings that we could be next? Be honest! :) After 4 years of being in this process, I can handle just about anything! I won’t hold you to it, I just need to hear that there’s a chance it could be real!!! ha…. Thanks, everyone!!!

RQ this is probably a dumb question but that sentence in your post, “rumor is that referrals to the end of March have been signed.” What does that mean?

franceskasmom – it means, if i am not mistaken, that the referrals are all ready to be stuffed into envelopes and mailed around the world, so it’s just a matter of days now….

franceskasmom – the way I read it is they have finished assigning march and they are onto april now and when the next batch of referrals come out in the next few days there will be april referrals in it as well.

Umm…. when I said “rumor is that referrals to the end of March have been signed”, I meant there is a rumor that the referrals up to the end of March have been signed.
For those of you who do not know how the matching room works, there is a link under Important Posts in the right hand column, that is titled something along the lines of How the Matching Room Works. You might want to read it.
If this rumor is true, then that means this batch will not cover any of April.

I read it as the rest of March is in for this coming batch and April will be in the one that follows.
For over a year now, I have felt that it would take a year to get through March 2006. Unfortunately, it does look like that is going to be the case.
I hope I am wrong and some of you April folks get to know the joy of seeing your child’s face for the first time in this next batch of referrals.

I just want to see more days coming our way… We have to get beyond the 2-3 day batches for me to hang onto hope.
Hoping that all of March is going to show up Thursday or Friday and you can all celebrate your referrals this week end! Comgrats to those that are getting referrals! It is a long time coming!

Oh no I am NOT falling for this again. NO WAY! Last time we kept hearing these crazy rumors about CCAA being finished with March 29th and then being done with all of March, and I let myself believe them……..and then the truth came forward and I was once again CRUSHED……cried for days! So, no I am NOT going to even think that this might be true. March 29th is a HUGE batch so if they do ANYTHING, I think they maybe could finish that one day. Our LID is 04/05/06 and I am thinking we will get a referral in February. Of course I’d LOVE to be proven wrong, but I REFUSE to fall into this trap again. It will be hard enough having yet ANOTHER Christmas with no baby…..I can’t let my heart believe that they will possibly get to us in December. NO WAY.

Yeah but wasn’t March 29th supposed to be really large? RQ’s poll shows at least 62 families logged in…and that’s just the people we know about.

OK so maybe I am frustrated; but I just can’t understand why the batches continue to be so small, especially with folks changing programs, dropping out, etc. And why are new dossiers being accepted? My LID is in 2008 and with 3 day batches every month, it is getting harder and harder to see a baby in our future especially from this program. I am excited for those expecting referrals, as you have exemplified patience – any advice for those of us behind you on how to maintain some sort of hope?

i’m amazed that we’re almost there, but if my spouse could have been open to more risk i would have changed programs. we also stayed b/c life just kept throwing surprises at us and we’d say “well, maybe it’s good little sis isn’t here so that we can work on this problem.” four years later here we are thrilled and terrified. we’re also pretty darn old!!

cliona- congrats on being there! Hope your referral comes anyday now! Old is only a number- your child will make you feel all sorts of things- old is one of them- but they will also make you feel young, smart, dumb, tired, exhilarated, anxious, crazy, happy, and many, many more. You will love each emotion and treasure them all- the good and the bad.
