Two agencies are confirming that the CCAA has mailed referrals, and that they should arrive Monday. I’ll give that rumor an R5.
I’m still seeing a lot of reports of either the 11th or the 12 being the cut off. I will give it an R3 that the cut off is either the 11th or the 12th.

OMG i hope this is true – after today we need things to move as quickly as possible.
My agency sent out a memo (at 4:00pm on a Friday) telling everyone that they are increasing their admin fee that they started charging a year or so ago from $250/year to $1,200/year. Yes you read it right 1,200 a year for doing NOTHING with my file!!!!!
Please hurry China!

We got the same memo so I guess we are dealing with the same agency. It wasn’t a good start to the weekend. We are also hoping that things speed up so we don’t have to keep paying the admin fee for our file to sit on a shelf.

We are LID 4/12. If it is true that the 12th is included, and if on Monday our agency receives the matches, when would we get the call? Anybody know? I seem to recall that they need a day or two to translate the referrals, but I’m not quite sure. Could we be getting a call on Monday? Anybody have any insight??

Here’s to hoping either of the dates are true…we were expecting a referral in April…we are sitting on pins and needles and for the first time we can think of we wish this weekend would fly by!

If they get thru the 12th we will only be 8 days out, we are LID 4/21, and I have to admit that after all this time it is just surreal to think that we could possibly be next but more likely finally get our referral in April. Its almost like you are afraid to breathe…….Im so exicted for all of you for monday to get here. Praying for a very fast weekend!!

I’m sensing a pattern here. Recall how RQ always puts in her “when” predictions about those who believe that referrals are always intended to come on or near the 1st of the month. She said that for awhile way back when, that was the way things seemed to be, but of course things got “off schedule” so to speak, and referrals could come at any time during the month. That is, if they don’t skip months like they did last year.
Now, we have a new director at C2A2. He sends out referrals that arrive 12/1, 12/31, 2/1 and now predicted for 3/1. Anyone else see the pattern here? Is he timing referrals for the 1st of the month again? Will the “1st of the Monthers” be proven right finally again?
At any rate, on pins and needles this weekend! LID 4/11/06!

still dreaming of china, that fee is criminal in my opinion. Are you guys in the US? If so I think you should be contacting your local politician and media. Our agency does not charge us anything for waiting. How can an honest person charge for doing nothing. Your situation just makes me angry to see an agency taking advantage of the horrible situation China has put us in.

lightiv, I agree completely with you. Our agency hasn’t charged us anything extra for “waiting” either. I would call the local TV station and try to get them to do a story on it. $250 is one thing…times are hard for agencies. I wouldn’t like it but would probably pay it to prevent making waves. $1200 on the other hand appears more like extortion.

WOW, I hope this turns out to be true. We are LID May 15 and counting the days. I hope to be able to read about the cut-off on Monday. Our agency rarely writes about it the same day CCAA updates the box, why I dont know. Please let this rumour be true!

If memory serves me correctly, I think you have to re-register. I believe commenting on the blog and forum are seperate. I would really love to talk to you all about this.

still dreaming of china, to get on the forums you need click on “Forum” under :Site Navigation on the right side of the screen. That takes you to the main Forum window where you need to click on “Register.” Fill out that information and follow that process and you will be able to access the Forums. From what I understand you can only join your own LID month which I think you said yours is August. That doesn’t matter to much as the person above in the May LID month can private message you from with in the forums.

Still dreaming of China- You have to register in BOTH places ( Here & the forum) in order to post there too.
Now to the post, IF they hit the 12th you all are going to have to pull me out of the space station, LOL, FINALLY some hope on the horizon. Even the 11th will be good. BUT IF they get the 12th then looking at RQ’s polls I think its possible they will get past the 20th next month. Fingers crossed, and congrats to evryone who is on pins and needles this weekend.

I am so surprised many of you are with an agency that has a yearly admin fee…I hadn’t heard of this before. Especially in light of the fact referrals take years now, not months.

I haven’t seen anyone mention how quick this batch seems to be. Yes, it’s been 4 weeks since last batch but they were closed a full week for CNY. I think that deserves a little woohoo as well.

For the first time in years………..I can’t wait until Monday. OMG! I hope us April 11 people are in and I have my fingers crossed that there was not a mistake and our LID is not really April 11. I am so nervous, and emotional.

Hi KATE747 in order to get access to your LID month private forum you need to send a letter to rumourqueen who is our mother duck and looks after us all. she will take about 24 hours to set you up. you know your in when you loggin to forums and look at the private section and you see your :LID month. if you cant see it your not set up. you obviously need to tell rumour queen what your LId month is. there is a Q&A somewhere on this but can remember where. hope this helps

If it makes anyone feel better, an agency I’m working with started charging a “supplemental quarterly fee” in January of 2009. The first quarter was $1000 and it was required within 2 weeks! I had hoped it was going to be just for 2009, but I received a schedule for 2010 after the holidays for the entire year. It adds thousands of dollars to the already mounting cost of adoption. And as someone else said, it is all for doing NOTHING. You wouldn’t think this is legal, but apparently it is. The local news channels reported on it and some parents even reported them to Department of Human Services, but it didn’t do any good. I have never felt so blackmailed in my life.

I hope they send LOA’s very soon too…we were just matched with our angel off the SN list the end of January. Within three days of our LOI we had PA (our dossier has been in China for over a year). I am hoping they keep up with their pace.

I wonder what would happen if all families of the agency charging the yearly$1200 admin fee were to all refuse to pay and stick to it. Would that mean that the agency would be forced into bankruptcy and have to hand all their clients off to another agency? I really doubt they would withdrawal their entire clientele’s files from China.

This is my first time posting but I’ve followed Rumor Queen comments for years (thanks Rumor Queen). We are with the agency with the $1200 annual fee. While it is quite shocking to us to have to pay this (along with a third homestudy), the alternative appears to be much worse (nightmarish even): the agency is non-profit and it appears that if they do not increase the fees, they will no longer be in business. I shudder to think about that scenario. I think our only hope is that referrals speed up.

My agency is in the United States. The letter that came with the fee schedule for 2010 stated that if you are late with payment, your file will be pulled from the respectable program until you are current. I’m not sure if they’ve implemented that policy yet. They also started charging a monthly late fee if you do not make payment on-time. These continue to accumulate each month when payment is not received. On a positive note, the quarterly payments in 2010 appear to be around $500 (we never know how much it will be until the invoice arrives).

$1,200…..$1,000 a quarter…Monthly late charges…….Those aren’t fees. It’s EXTORTION! That’s just horrible. Shame on them for taking advantage of PAPs in such a disgraceful manner. We’re all hit with hard times during the waiting. That agency should have considered opening to other types of adoption long ago. They knew before we did that the wait would increase. Shame, shame, SHAME on the agencies that taking advantage of hard times of others. And BTW, I hardly see an ADDITIONAL fee of $1,200 a year as “nonprofit”. If they’re that bad off, they’re going to go belly up anyway, as soon as the current PAPs are gone, because it’s not going to get easier for them to get clients with that kind of mark up.
